That means that I am stuck with Dial up until the new one gets here next week ! That just totally bites the big one ! (sigh)

If you're sure the problem is the modem, then yes, you're stuck. Unless you have wireless and want to go to an internet cafe. Trade someone your Makita egg beater for use of their modem, maybe.

sometimes the IP Address gets lost so you call your service provider and they fix it
