Try the Postal Service. Any of their stuff really. The CD is called "Give Up."

I also rather like Josh Groban, preferably the earlier stuff. Later stuff is more pop than classical (though it's still a mix).

Try Yoko One if you are looking for music that is not like anything else. "Walking on Thin Ice" is perhaps her most acessible album, but I recommend "OnoBox" as an opportunity to hear the wide variations in her music.

Debelah Morgan's - Dance With Me (I just discovered it, its old tho) Her voice is comparable to Mariah Carey's and the song is set over a chacha beat...very different!

here are some names of bands and artists that i listen to:
-the shins (you might know the song 'new slang' it was in the movie garden state)
-the format (really good band...check them out)
-death cab for cutie
-postal service
-something corporate (listen to pretty much any of their songs a lot of people i know say 'hurricane' is their fav. song.)
-jacks mannequin (lead singer of something corporate..its his 'side project' band. the album tells a story. listen to 'bruised' and 'dark blue' if you dont listen to the whole album)
-william tell (old guitarist from something corporate just put out an album its pretty good listen to 'slipping under' and 'young at heart')
-kate havnevik (she has had song on Greys Anatomy lately shes very good...listen to 'timeless')
-imogen heap
-artic monkeys
-brand new (great band I like their old cd better though)
-copeland (listen to 'pin your wings')
-the decemberists (you may not like them the first time you listen to them but i love them)
