I say we start giving wrong answers to all such questions. Who's with me?

Good idea. But it skips one possibility...that most of those asking for such help here are the stupidest rather than the lazy ones.
On thinking that one over...it's still a good, if mean, idea because it will avoid the guilt of having helped an inept student pass through the school system without gaining the rewards offered by an education.
What do they call it-No Child Left Behind?

Lazy students think that you will do your homework for them because other people have probably done their homework for them in the past. And even though it sounds incredulous, there are a certain few people out there who will pose a question until someone eventually ends up doing their homework for them. I just ignore them. I refuse to do homework for anyone. I will help someone and try my darndest to explain a concept but I will not do someone's entire homework assignment because it is not fair to the people out there who really put forth the effort and attempt to do their work. And also if they are going to bully you, do their work with ALL THE WRONG ANSWER. And when I say all, I mean all. And than later during the class. Stand up and quietly or announce it to teacher or the whole class that they forced you. They wont dare to ask you for the work again.

Of course, I'm an old timer, but when I think how hard I had to work to get my homework done correctly...well, where I come from I would call what these people are doing as CHEATING!

Giving out the wrong answers might be a solution, but I feel that's a form of lying, so that's not the right solution. The best solution is to ignore them totally...don't give them any answer. If you want to respond, try giving a string of ?????????????????????????? instead. That would take less effort than giving them the wrong answer! I plan to do that myself!

because u never said no to begin with. if u had said no the first time they asked u then they wouldn't ask u the second time. i bet u thought they will be ur friend if u help them out that way. so the next time they ask u just say no. what will u gain by messing them up. if u give them the wrong answer then u r helping them fail. i hope u r not that cold of a person to enjoy someone Else's failure. if Friends u r looking for or trying to fit in with the in crowd that will never be because kids like that know who to sweet talk to other to get what they want

My husband is the same way. He was always the "smart and nice guy" and people assumed he would be eager to "help" them. "Help" being defined as "Do it for me". He finally just started saying, "Look, it took me all night to do all of MY homework. I don't have time to even consider doing yours. If you'd like to start a study group or something, we can talk about arranging times, otherwise.... I'm sorry." Mind you this was during his tech school with the Air Force!! It never goes away. The work force can be the exact same way. "No" can be a very powerful word!

I'd say you're probably a very friendly and helpful person. A lazy student will take advantage of anybody who is "sympathetic" toward their cause. If you are vulnerable and are a friend, the lazy person will ask you to do work for him/her. They do this because they are lazy, lol. They don't know, "hard work", maybe you do, so don't be an enabler; let them suffer the consequences of inaction.

Because, as with spamming and trolling, some of the time it works. The part that jerks my chain though, is when I've put some time and effort into a reply that should lead the student to figure it out for themselves - only to find that someone went ahead and just gave the answer. I think I'm going to start low-rating those replies.

That's what the homework help section is for, asking for help on certain school things you don't understand. It would be wrong to purposely give them the wrong answer. If it irritates you that much, then answer questions in a different topic.

Probably because u are smart and thats the point they are lazy so they really dont want to spend the time on homework when they have someone like u that will do it for them. Maybae u shoould stop doing it then they wont want u to do it give them a reason for them to do there ooown homework afterall it is there career. and they will be dumb founded aboput whatever they are suppose to learn.
