tampons. When I was younger I used pads because my mom read in an article that it's not healthy for real young girls to use tampons so she gave me pads when I first started my period. After that I was apprehensive about trying tampons, but my younger sister started using them and one night I started my period and I was out of pads so I stole a tampon from her (I was a senior in high school). It was so much better than a pad; pads feel like you are wearing a diaper and the whole world can tell, but with a tampon you feel almost normal like you aren't on your period. So for a while I would use both, usually tampons during the day when I was at school or going to work or where ever and then use a pad at night when I went to sleep. After a couple of months, I finally got to the point where all I use is tampons. Haven't used pads since I graduated high school; like I said, tampons are so much nicer. You can go about normal life and feel almost regular again. I feel much more comfortable at work, at school, exercising, hanging out with friends, going dancing, whatever with a tampon. Back when I used to use pads, I wouldn't do anything that I didn't have to (basically just went to school and then came home and hung around my house, lying around watching tv) because I hated how uncomfortable the pads were.

I normally wear tampons and use a panty liner as a backup. Mainly because I wear thongs all the time. I just had surgery which is causing me to have light bleeding and cannot wear tampons because of where the surgery was, so I have to wear pads for a couple weeks.
I prefer tampons because I cannot stand the feeling of a pad, the blood rubbing against my privates. I think it is disgusting personally, but it all depends on the woman.

I've actually used both, right now I use pads (which are not as risky as tampons if one doesn't use the right kind for their particular menstrual flow which could cause a condition called toxic shock syndrome even though you don't hear about it as much as it once was). I did use tampons for a time starting at age 18 and had to stop about 5 years ago due to medical problems unrelated to the tampon itself.
The reason that we use tampons and/or pads is to help catch the blood and other product that comes out when we have our periods.

I normally wear both. Tampons, for me, are not enough protection. Wearing a pad alone is too risky. So I usually wear a tampon with a ultra thin pad or panty liner for back up.

I usually wear pads because, first of all I'm a virgin, and second I don't feel that the tampon is comfortable for me, I just do not like it.

tampons, better protection against leaks and they dont move around like pads do. can kinda put it in and in away forget about it for 4 hours, not stressing if your gonna overflow your pad

Pads. They're more comfortable for me, but i wear the ultra-thin ones, so i don't feel like i'm wearing a diaper:p
