Laptop keyboard. This is way more serious than a normal keyboard. Once, I had to replace my laprop's keyboard, because someone spilt iced coffee on it! Maybe that was me....

Anyway... you can't just buy a laptop keyboard from any random store. You have to contact Sony, and send the laptop to them for replacing the keyboard, which took abot a week or two for HP. Backup all your important files, then give it to them. I think they would ask you to clean the hard drive (restore to factory settings) as well. The replacement, I think, would cost around US $130. The new HP keyboard costed Aus. $ 180, so I reckon my estimation is close enough.

My one advice to you; Don't contact the Customer Service. They're all some random people in a random call centre who don't know what they are talking about, and just read stuff of a moniter.

I normally get such parts either from Ebay or from the manufacturer. You do need to be a little skilled at hardware to replace a laptop keyboard. Be sure you have that skill level first.

Here's a replacement keyboard for most PCG-K series laptops. I don't see your's specifically listed, but it should work. Might call them before ordering.

Same thing for http://www.laptopparts.com/

I don't see your specific model, but a call to them might confirm compatability with your model.
