I agree with your best and worst list, except add Andrew Jackson to the worst list.
As for good for 2008, its going to be hard. I swear that there are some Republicans, third partiests or some group of people who hate the Democrats, who are funding both Barrack Obama and Hilary Clinton's campaigns. The 2008 election needs to be a tiem of radical change, and we can't do that if we get hung up on this being "the first veto done by a black president" or "the first bill signed under a woman president" or "the first international dinner with a first man instead of a first lady" or anything like that. I am all for equality, but I sadly think that the Democrats will select one of those two to be the official candidate and not enough Republicans will vote for the other side with it looking like that. Our only choice, sadly, is a liberal Republican. I would have gone for either a liberal Republican or a conservative Democrat, but no conservative Democrat is going to have a chance this time around. We need moderation to unite the country once and for. We don't want to break out into the Second American Civl War or have to dealing with secession of states to form a new country.

Best - Lincoln
Worst - Pierce and Buchanan
I selected them all for the same reason - how they dealt with the sectional crises ripping the country apart. Pierce and Buchanan did very little. Lincoln took command and held the country together.
I don't see anyone I really am rooting hard for in 2008. Yet. Some are worse than others.
I've been following capmaigns one way or another since 1968. So I know that sometimes people come from out of nowhere to become president. Maybe it will be Obama - who knows?!
PS I have been a history buff for a long time. I love reading about the presidents and their lives and times. It's better than a novel because it's all true!

Bush, Bush, and Reagan as the WORST Presidents? Reagan was the guy that got our inflation rate down from the mid-teens to 3%. You're obviously just like 10 years old and can't think of any other presidents. Trying to say Bush is the worst and Clinton is the best is ignorant. Aside from the obvious reasons, it's simply too soon to tell what their legacy will be. Eisenhower was considered a bumbling dolt that had no clue what was going on, but "The Hidden Hand Presidency" reveals that he was actaully cunning as a fox. Truman was long considered a failed president until just the last decade or so.
WORST Presidents? Easy. Warren G Harding - Single most corrupt administration ever. All of you kiddies that think Bush is corrupt need to go to wikipedia and look up the tea pot dome scandal. He dies in office (while doing a hooker), so he did all of the damage in just two years. Grant was another failed presidency. Mostly it appears as though he just had no idea what was going on and his administration was also racked by scandal. Andrew Johnson is another one that ranks really low. Impeachment, riots in New Orleans, half-baked policies regarding the Southern states... His teure was a big nightmare. I would even say LBJ and Nixon need to be brought into the equation long before you start showing how uneducated you are by saying "Bush, Bush, and Reagan."
Best President? It depends. if you want to know a very under-rated President it's James K Polk. He came into office with 4 promises and did every once of them. Kicked the butts of the Mexicans, booted the Brits from the northern territories... Not only that, but he did it in one-term. One-termers are usually the least successful presidents.

You ranked Reagan (notice spelling - read about him) as one of the worst. Most Republicans & Democrats alike agree is was a great president who accomplished many things including restoring confidence in America, eliminating hundreds of specialized tax deductions & eliminating taxes for many of the poor, we had "peace through strength" & that included the US-Iran war.There were many acomplishments - look it up.
The best you rank Jimmy Carter. How old are you? He did one thing of merit the whole time he was in office & that was the Peace talks. He allowed our Embassy in Iran to be held captive & our soldiers were dragged through the streets. This went on you a year. He gave amnesty to the deserters & traitors from Viet Nam war on his 1st day in office. Remember that he only won with 50% too.
Jackson made his fortune selling slaves, threatened to hang a govenor for opposing him, & sent troops to SC to "whip" them in shape. Used more vetoes than any president & refused to work with Congress. I can see why he would be a hero
Lincoln is your only Republican that you list as best - I assume an oversight on your part.
Obama is an admitted drug user who stands for himself.
Most people do not know his stands - he does not hide them but no one is looking. I have read & seen several interviews. His lack of experience coupled with hisbeliefs will never make him a good president.
The best Ronald Reagan, FDR & George Washington
The worst Buchanan, Carter & Clinton

I think Abe Lincoln was the best President seeing as he ended slavery, he wanted those people to live freely. Bush is the worst, he has been doing things that go against the U.S. Constitution and having people fight and die in a war that is not going anywhere. Obama would be good to vote for in the Presidential Elections as he takes our interests to heart. He speaks like one of us and on our level and not like the now a day politicians normally do. He is for wanting to do things for the environment, wants high quality healthcare for all Americans, wants the Veterans to be well taken care off, wants everyone to be provided with a quality education. The list goes on. He also believes the troops have done well but sees there can be no military solution to a political conflict between the peoples of Iraq. He is working hard to get them to come home.

Best was Harry S. Truman no nonsense man who became president in later days of WW II famous for saying the "buck stops here."
Worse begins with Ronnie Reagan who play the role of a president for eight years. Next is Bush #2 and Bush#1.
For 2008 the jury is still out in my opinion lot can happen between now and next few months. I lean towards governor of New Mexico and log shot Edwards.

Reagan easily is the best president in recent times. He forcefully ended a 4 decade long standoff with the Soviet Union. Large tax cuts, huge job creation, longest period of peacetime prosperity without a recession. Crime was down, welfare was down, people were proud to be Americans. He survived an attempted assassination. He could actually give a speech that would give you goosebumps unlike the last three guys. As far as Carter in your best list. I hate to tell you but across the board it is believed that he will go down as one of the worst presidents in history. Good for 08, Romney is the best groomed candidate. Not much name recognition though. Obama can stir a crowd and very well-spoken. I would not mind watching them debate.

== Best ==
* George Washington
* Abraham Lincoln (although I believe that states should be able to leave the Union, and disagreed with his usage of executive powers, he did keep our country together)
* Theodore Roosevelt (fan of his big-stick foreign policy, environmental conservatism, and humor surrounding him)
* Franklin D. Roosevelt (although I disagree with his New Deal stuff, he was a great leader in WWII)
* Ronald Reagan (although disappointed with Iran-Contra deal, his domestic policy was great and he helped to bring down the USSR)
== Worst ==
* Ulysses S. Grant
* Andrew Johnson
* Warren G. Harding
== 2008 Candidate ==
* John McCain
* Mitt Romney
(By the way, Bush will be president through all of 2008, as the next elected one won't be in office until Jan 2009.)
