I have a 1985 GMC Jimmy it just died on me. I put a new battery in it, Changed the terminals, and made sure all wires were nice and tigh and it is still dead. there is no power going to it whatsoever. Not even the slightest sign of life. What could be the problem?

check fuses and ignition relays fuses should be on the inside of the car and tyhe relay is on the bulkhead in the engine bay
also check the battery has charge (just coz it is new doesn't nessissarily mean it works) it should output between 12 and 13 volts
the best way to see if the car has an electrical fault is to simply jump start it run it for about 10 minutes with no electricle applianses ie fan wipers ect then turn off and try to start agian if same thing happens then the car has a fault other than the battery see fuse and relayif it starts then your battery was at fault
to checkk wiring you need a multi-meter or a couple of lengths of wire and a light bulb (12 volt not household) attachone end af each wire to the bulb then attach the ends of each wire to the ends of the live wires in the car starting at the battery and working your way round the ignition system if the bulb light s up the wires are fine if not replace the wire

Check all fuses, then your ground wire to the frame, then you might have a fusable link in the positive battery wire.
