You may need a better razor & to use a good shaving gel.

Schick Quattro & Aveeno Shave Gel for sensitive skin are the best products I've ever used.

This article is a good one: http://www.ehow.com/how_1438_shave-legs.html

I also use a poof w/ moisturizing shower gel in between shaves.

Me too!!! Then, amazingly, when I saw that tv show, "Queer eye for the straight guy" they told the men to use a really good shaving cream and a fresh new razor each time and to go with the direction of the hairs not against them. I thought, hmmm, I might try that on my legs and it works! I always shaved "up" and would get bumps. Now I shave "down" with the hairs and havn't had any problems. I also use a cooling gel afterwards. Using a new razor each time really does take the hairs off fine.

If you skin is really dry you can get it, also if it's sensitive. First start using a good lotion, one with out any alcohol in it. Then get a sensitive shaving cream, do not shave in the shower, soak in the tub for a few minutes, let the hair get soft, this helps with irritation. If you have problems with certain spots after shaving use some deodorant on them, this also works great on a bikini line. I haven't had razor rash down there in years, lol. Make sure its the solid kind, not gel or spray though as they both contain more alcohol. Finally, sometimes women's razors are really too harsh on our skin, try using a man razor, specifically one for sensitive skin. Good Luck. OH, one more thing, always wait till the rash goes away before shaving again, never shave over razor rash, this prevents it from healing, and can also cause ingrown hairs.

First, you'll desire to face contained in the bathe for 10-quarter-hour formerly shaving so as that the steam from the nice and cozy water can open up pores and melt your epidermis and the hair, which will enable the razor to glide a lot less stressful. next, you'll desire a pointy razor...i desire to apply a adult adult males's 3-razor blade razor, which receives close to to the exterior. once you've waited 10-quarter-hour, wash the realm with warm water, then practice a beneficiant volume of shaving cream. Then, bypass ahead and shave slowly contained in the different route of hair to get the smoothest shave. some recommend to shave interior an same route that hair grows to avert bumps, yet you received't get a close shave. as long as you wait 10-quarter-hour formerly shaving, you mustn't have a situation. once you shave, rinse properly with warmth or cool water, no longer warm, which could worsen freshly shaved epidermis. And make useful you toss the razor each 2 weeks.

Don't shave, wax. It is a lot better, lasts longer, the skin feels smoother, the hair grows thinnier, and generally nobody gets bumps os irritation.
You should go to a profesional the first time, and then, if you want to do it your self, be careful with the temperature.
It doen's hurt as much as people think when done by expert hands.

make sure your legs are wet and use a shower gel or shaving gel. Make sure you razor is sharp! blunt can cause razor bumps. Make sure you moisturise afterwards.

Maybe your skin is just sensitive to it.
You could try creams like nair hair removal etc.
or waxing, but thats expensive and hurts! Ouch lol!

shave in very warm room...shave up, not down...if this still doesnt work, then shaving is just not for you...
you may consider alternatives like sugaring, elecrolosis or a hair-off mitten

Maybe go with the grain, not against(shve downward, not upward.

Don't push too hard, and a good place is in the shower.
