When a batter reaches first by being hit by a pitch, and then steals a base, and then scores on the following batter's single, is the run earned or unearned?

That would be an earned run. Runs are only unearned when they score because of errors. Neither a HBP or a SB counts as an error.

earned, its only unearned when someone fields the ball incorrectly for an error and in this case it wasnt.

All runs scored on surpassed balls are unearned because of the fact the pitcher isn't at fault for surpassed balls. the only time runs are unearned are while runs are scored by using a surpassed ball or a fielding blunders.
