the reason he went crazy was becuase people were being racist to him telling him to go back to china you dirty asian, i read that on cnn. I think the fact he went mental, was because he was asian, but not because its bad to be asian, but becuase people made fun of him for being asian

Already there is talk of a backlash against Asians, and South Koreans in particular. Just like after 9/11 and the hatred to arab-looking individuals. America is the most racist country in the world and acts like it has a handle on it. Nothing will stop racism here as long as Americans continue to think they are superior to everyone else.

I feel as though someone at Virginia Tech was on the brink of a discovery that would have changed mankind forever.. The GOD's above or powers that be - sent this Korean man on a mission to kill a certain someone for reasons we will never know at this present time. This persons potential discovery or persons offsprings discovery 50 years down the road would have had extremely detrimental consequences on humanity and the world we live. The actions of this Korean saved the world! He is a martyr!

More narrow minded people is something America doesn't need right now. A lot of questions have been centered around the "Asian" community because this kid was of "Asian" descent. Anybody with a shred of common sense can see that this incident was not, and is not about race period!
I love America, but sometimes I can't stand how we as Americas think! That's just my 2 cents.

Ok well why would it help end rasicm?
I mean i can see why it could make it worse for asians, but why would it also make it better?
Also, i noticed how everyone is saying race had nothing to do with it, but i have already seen people backlashing against asians, and think about how arabs and muslims were looked at by alot of Americans after 9/11.

What do you think, little lady?
Hopefully, it won't have any repercussions at all on the Asian community (especially South Korean) living in the United States.
As far as I know, the crimes committed weren't political or racial but then again, I heard somewhere that this Cho Seung-Hui character despised wealthy white folks so I don't really know what to think about this killer's ill actions now...
I also read somewhere that he felt rejected by a girl who also attended Virginia Technical Institute so was the whole massacre due to a crime of passion that blew out of proportions?

I was really upset when I heard that there was another massacre, and even more upset when I found out the killer was Asian. It's a disgrace to all of us Asians that he did that. I can't believe it!
Tuesday morning, when I went to school, I heard everyone talk about an "Asian male" being the killer, and that made me feel uncomfortable.
Sure, it will dispel some stereotyping about Asians being quiet and submissive, but it'll do more harm than good. Everyone will be saying, "Who do these foreigners think they are, coming into our country, doing such things?"

I think it would make it worse for the Asians to be honest. Already I heard people talk about Asians in a bad way.

Race has nothing to do with him being a murderer. But prejudice still exists. When people see a Middle Westerner, they often assume he's got a mind of a terrorist. What a sad world. I'm not saying everyone's the same but it's the truth
-- Chloe: please read again, the numbers of men dead in the VT massacre were higher than women

Neither. Next week at this time the majority of the people will unfortunatly have forgotten the VT killings. Nothing more will be said until the next campus killing. And then it will start all over again for a week or so, until it happens again. And yes, I'm sorry to say, it will happen again and again. Where it happens is anybodies guess.

Unfortunately, racism will always be around no matter what. Even if humans were all one race we would most likely find ways to divide up and find things to dislike about "the other groups"somehow.
