I love it! Their proof is to try to disprove evolution!
You'd better be careful, because the big guy in the sky with the white beard is going to send some lightning bolts your way!
Second best thing I've heard all week, right after hearing T-Rex tastes just like chicken!

We have a solid "Theory of Evolution" which has natural and experimental peer reviewed evidence. While we lack a solid observation of spieciation, it may be the last linchpin for a law of evolution.
I say let the creationism crowd build a scientifically solid case for creationism. It would require direct observation and experimental evidence. It would also require peer review. Right now the most the creationism crowd can claim is that they have a "Hypothesis of Creationism."
Its not even worth giving them the time of day until they have any recreatable evidence for their paltry hypothesis.
P.S. I read one of the answers and really liked it. It was one done by the faithful, and I didn't mind it in the least.
OK...science can tell you the what and the how of a question. Science really doesn't give two rats farts about the question of why. So to those fighting for creationism, you don't have to fight so hard for a silly dream. You can go right on thinking god caused it all and uses natural selection as the means.

There is no need to explain it to you because it would fall on deaf ears. By the same token, there is no proof of evolution. It is only a theory and certainly flawed because the first law of thermal dynamics says that matter can neither be created nor destroyed but you evolutionists say there was an abundant supply of hydrogen in the universe that compressed and caused this big boom which made all the other matter. Where did the hydrogen come from? In other words, instead of saying man came from monkeys, you are saying that EVERYTHING CAME FROM THIN AIR. Come on! And you are calling us in error. Also, explain why we have museums all over the world full of bones and fossils of KNOWN life that was and is on earth now. Where is JUST ONE fossil of a creature that is not man nor ape but one of those creatures that was a stage in the development of man between the ape and him? So don't go spouting off about proof. You do not have any proof to support your THEORY OF EVOLUTION either. So, just shut up and BELIEVE what you want. Comprendo?

Well, the Earth is more that 6000 years old. But, there was more than a big bang. WE dont know, we just believe. Call it ignorant, or call it common sense. You have to have a lot more faith than me to believe two subatomic particles happened to crash into each and BOOM! create the universe. Science still is true even in creationism. God's the one who made natural laws, which is what science is all about. You are right, we dont have hard evidence, but who does? Nobody knows whether or not the big bang theory is true, its speculation, its a theory. As is God creating the world, they are both theories. I have never tried to tear down science, you must be ignorant of creationism. Science helps us understand a great many things, and I embrace it. You must have an open mind, Christianity is not a fraud, I prove it to you, but you have to make a decision to believe it or reject it. Your decision has eternal consequences if Im right. If not, it doesnt matter, science doesnt matter, nothing really matters, because we all are dust forever.

There is a great deal more evidence of evolution going back billions of years. Evolution can be witness in the modern world also. Creationism just doesn't hold up in the face of this evidence although the bible story should really be regarded as an allegory for the development of the Earth over these billions of years. If you think of it in these terms it is just the early writers of scripture trying t explain the inexplicable. I am however an atheist

Ignorance can be blissful, but bitterness-never blissful.
Why not let people just believe what they want to believe-like how you probably believe you asked an intellegent question.
People have something called; Faith....and if they are happy living a faithful life that is all the proof that I need that there is a God.
Bitterness and ignorance breed hate..We have enough of that going around... I don't think our creator did a lowsy job in creating us at all. If we bleed, we heal-that is remarkable.
And why would you question a narrow female pelvic area..

Conservatives live in a faith based reality. FACTS only get in the way.
They also have no idea what a theory is. A scientific theory is an explanation for natural phenomena that best fits the available data. It is NOT a hypothesis. The theory of evolution has stood the test of time.
I would argue that evolution is a fact. Fossil evidence shows that organisms tend to become less and less complex and more and more alike as you turn back time. You cannot find the fossils of modern animals after a few millions years. You will only find fossils of similar creatures in size and appearance. The farther back you go the more these fossils start to group together.
Evolution is a fact. It's only the exact method in how it occured that scientists keep perfecting.

It's Faith. Faith trumps reason. Faith is a powerful and wonderful thing, and you /can/ trust a man of faith - you can trust him to do what his faith dictates. While certain versions of the Christian Faith does demand some whacky things of thier adherents - like pretending the earth is only a few thousand years old and so forth - it has many good points, as well. Christians do a huge amount of charity work, for instance, work that, but for thier Faith, would have to be paid for by the government or go undone.
So, I think we should allow them thier articles of Faith that conflict non-destructively with reality. Afterall, freedom of religion is a valuable tenent: it doesn't just protect the odd beliefs of religious minorities, it protects us all /from/ religion being forced upon us.

I don't disagree on many points. Dinosaurs and men did not walk together, Adam was not created from dirt, anymore than you or I are created from dirt, the earth is probably millions of years old, not 6,000. However, God did create us in his image and for his purposes. Not all those who believe in God fit in the same box.

Here's a quandary...what if God created the earth with a History? Since God created everything, when nothing existed, then creation of a carbon dated 4 million year old fossil is as plausible as the creation of man from dust. Wrap your mind around that circle for a while!
