i basically agree with heil_cf2 above.

MAJOR SPOILER ALERT FOR TERABITHIA AND MILLION DOLLAR BABY--IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN EITHER OF THEM YET, GO AWAY NOW.

i absolutely hated Terabithia. i went to see the fantasy film that was portrayed in the trailers which sort of reminded me of a Neverending Story type film. instead i'm treated to this downer of a film. i actually sat there after we were told of her death, waiting for something/someone magical to come from that land and bring her back to life. but no, i actually spent my saturday afternoon watching some movie about a dead teen (preteen?).

and i was not the only one that had gone to see the movie based on the trailer. there were little kids behind me bawling and asking their parents what happened to the little girl. some idiot studio head decided to play up the fantasy angle without even mentioning anything of this seriousness would take place in the trailer. did i cry? no, i was too angry to cry.

at least in Million Dollar Baby you knew you were dealing with more real life situations. even though i thought i was spending my money on a fight film, when that movie took its deadly turn i could accept it a little easier because of its subject matter. my initial reaction was, "what the....!!!" but i came to accept what was happening. and i did shed a couple of tears on this one (tho i turned my head so my GF couldn't see. yeah, i'm one of THOSE guys ([sigh]).

the only reason i didn't ask the manager for my money back on Terabithia was the performances. since that film, i have actually seen both of the youngsters in other movies. they are both very good.

but this was not the movie i had paid my good money to see. those greedy studio idiots knew this movie would not make as much money with such a downer theme and intentionally constructed misleading trailers.

i cried a lot...
i went to watch a fiction, adventurist, a movie to explore new worlds , cave trolls and other cool 3d effects..AS shown in trailers
all i get is 1 minute of that stuff in the end..
so i cried that why i waste my money..
it was a good movie - but not for me...
