Because we English have no pride! Why do we celebrate St Patrick's day (it's just an excuse to get drunk, I know!) but hardly anything is said about St George's day?

St George's Day is a religious holiday, and, at least in America, the only religious holiday that is recognized by the government as a holiday is Christmas. Though there are many other days considered to be holidays, they don't have religious connotations.
I hope that helps.

I live in the US and never heard of St. George.
I think we have too many holidays for people though. We should have one holiday "Famous People Day".
As for Casmir Pulaski day, I never heard of him either and I think that is the stupidest thing to have a holiday for, someone who is so insignificant to people in our country.
We have a Martin Luther King day and I think that is ridiculous too.
