I am 34 weeks and 4 days. I had a doctor appointment today and the doctor confirmed that the baby has dropped. Does this mean I will go early or does it not mean anything? Thanks!!

Yes I did ask. I wanted some personal stories. If you are going to be rude. Go somewhere else.

sweety, hate to say this but it really means nothing. My baby dropped around 34 weeks. Now at 38 1/2 weeks it is still awaiting game. I am only 50 % effaced and have 0 dilation.
Welcome to the unconfortable last weeks.
Congrats by the way not to much longer to go.

Could mean you go early. Im 36.5 weeks pg and on Monday I was 2 cm dilated and 70% effaced and the baby is at station -1. Losing some mucous plug but nothing to get excited about. It just means the baby has settled into your pelvis unless you have contractions and or your water breaks nothings a for sure sign the baby is going to be early.
Good luck

does not really mean much. i am 31 almost 32 weeks and my baby dropped to 0 at 28 wks then just found it he is at -1. so as long as you are not dilating with it does not mean much besides that baby is getting prepared.

It doesn't mean anything. Mine has been in position since 34 weeks, I'm 37 weeks and only 1cm dilated...although everyone is different, I would prepare yourself to go untill your due date!

Your baby is just getting in the position that he will be in until birth. Te baby may already be head first but its getting closer to delivery.

no not necessarily, it just means that your getting closer to your due date. Towards the end of your pregnancy the baby postions its self and it drops. Its normal in all pregnancys

Didn't you think to ask your doctor while you were there?
Just because your baby dropped doesn't mean you will go into early labor. Just deal w/the extra pressure until you go into labor.
