I have tried eating saltine crackers and dry cereal and stuff like that. But nothing works, I'm nauseous all day every day. My doctor told me that I could take ginger pills, they are supposed to help relieve motion sickness. I haven't taken them yet. I was just wondering if anyone had tried them and if they worked? Is there anything else that works?

Saltine crackers made it worse for me, actually.

I LIVED on ginger ale and lemon drops for 2 full months. Sometimes I would eat eggs, but usually it was just ginger ale and lemon drops.

Once you find something that works for you, stay on it!

I have just gotten over "morning" sickness (few days ago) and had been pretty miserable for a few months. Saltines didn't really work for me either, but my doctor did prescribe Reglan which I took 30 minutes before meals to eliminate the naseous feeling. It may be worth a try if you're not against taking medicine. It worked for me and I only took it for about a week before starting to feel better enough not to have to use it. I heard that peppermint also helps, both the smell and the taste. I have a peppermint flavored hand soap that I use when washing my hands...although this only helps temporarily. It may also help to note down any foods that make you more naseaus than others. For some reason, I could never keep cold cereal down in the morning because of the milk. May be different foods for you of course. :-)

I've never gone through morning sickness (never carried a baby long enough), but my sister swore by this. First thing upon waking, even before getting out of bed, my sister would eat a few saltine crackers. She would then lay back down for a half hour or so, giving the crackers a chance to settle her stomach, then get up out of bed. She did this with her 2nd child, and had very little morning sickness. Best wishes and I hope you have a beautiful, healthy baby!

I don't know why this isn't common knowledge by now. Maybe not many doctors know about it. But my OB told me to take a Unisom at night and 25mg of Vitamin B6 three times a day. It works wonders! I am 19 weeks pregnant and with my first two I was sick all day every day for 6 months! After I started taking the Unisom at about 10 weeks, I have been sick only once. Give it a try. It worked the first day for me!

Prego pops helped me, ginger root, peppermint, lemon, sour raspberry. Stay away from grease, fried food, caffinee...By the way my doctor says no to pepto. If it is severe there is also a medication called Zofran that was my saving grace. Drink plenty of water and eat small meals all day.

The main cause of morning sickness is a combination of issues related to the chemical changes your body is going through. Mix a pinch of nutmeg powder with a table spoon of gooseberry juice, and take it thrice a day. Sip little by little ginger juice mixed with honey before you get out of bed. I feel for you, hun. I had morning sickness 24/7 for a couple of months and nothing helped. Then the morning sickness eased up and indigestion hit for the remainder of the pregnacy. I even got indigestion from drinking water. BUT peppermint candy helped that when nothing else would. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Actually, yes there is. Keep a baggy of regular almonds(not smoked or salted or flavored, just plain almonds) on your bed-stand. First thing in the morning, grab a handful and eat some.

Ginger does help. Vernors and ginger snaps were 2 of my best friends when I was pregnant.
