Kiss I want to rock and roll all night....and party every day. (plus you get a double meaning in there with the name of the group)
anything by the cure, but if you want to impress your english teacher, get Killing an Arab...and explain that it is not a racist song, but based on the popular book The Stranger (I believe by Camus, but you could look it up to check) and say that because we all go through times in our lives where we feel like an outsider or some other b.s. like that.
Charlotte Sometimes is a good one by the cure, also based on a young adult story.
There is a great depressing song about love by Black Tape for a Blue Girl called Bastille Day, 1961.

Black & Blue Eyes- The Fratellis
really, the best one to pick these songs is you--if you don't feel you can find one that really DESCRIBES you, just pick your favorite of the moment and tell why you like it. It's basically the same thing and i don't think your teacher will mark you down for it.

When I think of this question, I turn to Tom Waits. Even if you don't like his voice (in a class all itself), you can't deny the poetry of his lyrics.
"I Hope That I Don't Fall in Love with You"
&
"Johnsburg, Illinois"
&
"Postcard from a Hooker in Minneapolis"
