Some say once a day, some say twice a day and both are just fine. I feed twice a day for most of my fish. Once in the morning with flake or pellet and once in the evening with frozen or live foods. Baby fish I feed more often.

Tropical fish should be fed 2 times per day. Feed them as much as they can consume in 3 minutes without any of the food floating to the bottom. Do not feed the fish as soon as you turn on the aquarium lights, wait a half hour and then feed the fish their first feeding. I would also suggest that you purchase a cory catfish and a flying fox to help consume the algae and inevitable extra food that reaches the bottom.

Fish are grazers (just like horses...but a lot less food). you should feed them 3-5 times a day, in very small amounts. With only three fish, just a small pinch of food should do it. Don't over-feed, or it will pollute your tank. Your fish shouldn't take more than a couple of mintues to eat all the food. Oh yes, and to the guy above me....Overfeeding CAN kill fish.

Having fish all my life and working in fish shops, i have learnt to know yourself how much your fish needs. i have always fed my fish more then they can eat. I know you have heard them say if you feed your fish to much you can kill them, that cannot happen i assure you, it does make the water bad from the decaying food but that is all.Put what they tell you to put in and see it they are still hungry, if they are put more in. I feed my fish 3 times a day and in the last 6 years i have never lost a fish. They are hungry just like us and at the pet shops they feed less to save on product, so feed them when you think they are hungry and its all up to you, you will not harm them in any way by giving them extra.
