i have hard that it is ok to feed your convicts earth warms as long as you wash them off with tap water ????

Yet, that's safe. You might have to cut them up a bit for the convicts, but it's a good food for them. Be sure they still get a staple flake or pellet too though.

you can 'grow' them yourself in a box with soil and feed them lettuce, if you are worried about pesticides.

Cichilds (convicts are a part of the family) LOVE worms. Instead of tap water, I recommend getting a small bowl of your tank water and rinse them off with that. My reason being, I want to keep even trace amounts of chlorine away from my fish and my filter (well, the good bacteria in the filter).

Just don't feed them too much. They may try to hold out for them and they need a quality pellet for a healthy well-balanced diet (80-90%).

they say not to feed your pets anything that you find outside because of the pesticides people use. Those can kill your pets. Personally, I would only buy from the store....but if you wash them off and feel safe with that...go for it.

the only trouble would have been thaqt they would cloud up your tank----I washed mine off and gave them to my pacu and no problem

that's gross there is no way that's healthy, but earth worms are all natural
