I do, even though I shouldn't. So many people are out to bring one another down.

There are many different currencies of power.

One is money. If I pay someone ten dollars to see a movie, I have lost a certain amount of power and they have gained it.

Another is time. If I pay attention to someone, they have gained a measure of power - control over my time. They will retain that power as long as I keep paying them.

So it goes.

paying attention does not mean giving up your power or control....you choose to pay attention.

Depends. Do you obsess? Do you let something consume your attention? I give my attention to the people around me, and show them love that way. Its not a power thing, its a love thing. Live, laugh, love and enjoy!

that's the only way something has power over a person

a better question is to ask whether or not giving attention to something is the only way for that thing to have value
