when you order from Applebees to go or Outback to go (where you drive to pick it up)
do you tip the same as if you were to go in the restaraunt and sit down?

I always give $2 for that curb-side pick-up service. Someone had to box everything up, make sure I got napkins and forks and condiments packs, check my order, and run it out to me in possibly inclement weather while I sit on my lazy butt in a nice warm car. I think that's worth $2.

I usually tip the server since who knows what chaos is happening in the kitchen that is no fault of the waiters' and he may be in a predicament of being unable to let me know. No matter what, I always leave a 15% minimum. For better service, I would add more. If I opt to eat from the buffet, I would leave 15%. since tips make most waiters' bread and butter.

No. All they do is walk it out the door. Only tip when you are in a sit down restaurant. When they serve you well. 20% for excellent service, 15% for below average, 10% for half hearted service. Nothing for no service. If they have gone above and beyond excellent service I might even add a few dollars more.

honestly it depends. If a server had to take the time away from other customers that they were serving to prepare your meal, and bag it up and do the things that usually are harder for them to do than if they were bringing it to you at a table, I say yes leave a tip. Especially if the restaurant is very busy. Maybe 10% at least. If they have someone that is just running a to go counter then maybe less. But as a former server, to go tips were greatly appreciated.

i used to work at applebees at carside ToGo and when doing carside you should tip a couple of bucks because the person has to prepare the food by getting everything that goes along with it. (we dont just get the food and put it in a box, you have to get everthing that goes along w/ the meal like sauces and sides) Also the food is brought out to your car. So a couple of bucks should be given.

It depends on how good the waiter/waitress was. If they are nice, helpful, professional & reasonably come back to check on you if everything is o.k. or if your drinks need refills, need more napkins, dessert or whatever. It also depends on how much the check is. I usually would tip anywhere between $3 - $5 depending on the experience. But if the server is rude, takes too long or doesn't come back to check up on me if I need anything else, then they get NO TIP.

But for curb side pick up....there shouldn't be the need to tip. Waiters always looking for tips with everything they do. They already get their hourly wage from the restaurant, plus the tips inside the restaurant when they serve, so...why do they need to expect additional tips? just do yourself a favor & walk inside, pick up your own food.

We eat out about once a week. For curbside, I don't tip as much as inside, but I will tip depending on how fast, and accurate they have my order. If it's a long wait, there's not going to be a tip.

You don't tip unless you go into the resteraunt and are waited on, that and deliveries to your house, 15 - 20 % on those,, 0 for pick-ups.

NO

I never leave tips for pick-up orders. I mean, you can, but in my mind you're tipping for service (like refilling drinks, having someone bring you condiments, clear the table). They aren't really doing anything except sticking it in a box.

Always tip!!
If you are willing to pay for a meal to save you from shopping, prepping, and cooking a meal, why not tip a few dollars more?
Really, the luxury should be extended to the staff.
