There were 5.
George Washington was in office from April 30th, 1789 to March 4th, 1797.
The States, which statehood took place at that time, were:
North Carolina, November 21, 1789
Rhode Island, May 29, 1790
Vermont, March 4, 1791
Kentucky, June 1, 1792
Tennessee, June 1, 1796
But! North Carolina and Rhode Island were part of the 13 Colonies...so, it depends on how you look at those two.
