They close after a robbery and the police come to do a report...

PS. And also they rent/lease the building, once their tenancy is up the owner can put another store, makes sense to leave the locks in... *rolls eyes*

I use to work at 7-11 and yes, they are open 24 hours a day...I never worked the graveyard shift though!! They have locks on the doors if there becomes an emergency such as a crazy person outside or after a robbery took place, they would lock the door immediately and call the police. if you are in the store by yourself(which i was quite frequently) and i needed to go to the restroom,i would lock the main door until i got out of the restroom.

Door manufacturers don't make exterior doors without locks. Most businesses (like the 7-11s that close at 11pm) need them, so the lock is a standard item.
There's no reason for 7-11 to spend time and money to remove the lock, so it just sits there.

There used to be a 7-11 in my home town and the only time it was locked that I knew of was after a robbery.

Only the old ones that used to open 7am - 11pm have locks. The new ones don't.

Probably in case of an emergency....like a robbery or threat. Or if the clerk has to leave due to an emergency.
