If the Red Sox can conjure up any semblance of run support this weekend, they'll take at least 2.

The Sox usually win these series early in the year. It's later on that those massacres and whatnot happen. At least that's what's happened recently.

I think Friday's game will be a shootout, since it pits two aging pitchers who each other's offense knows very well. That's a toss-up, although I have to favor NY because the Sox just have a weak lineup this year (unless Manny's homer today is a sign that his late warmup is beginning early.

Saturday and Sunday should go to the Sox just because Beckett and Matsuzaka are having phenomenal years so far. I reiterate my point about the run support, though...

With Schilling on the mound against Pettite, who we have seen before, I pick the Sox sweeping the Yankees. This isn't just the words of a Sox fan. They face 2 unproven rookies and just took 2 of 3 from Toronto, including against Roy "Doc" Halladay, who is Cy Young caliber. A-Rod can never figure the Sox out, while we have figured out Mariano Rivera. Papelbon, Matsuzaka, a rejuvenated Beckett, Ortiz, Manny, and Drew are the great equalizers against the Yankees offensive machine. Papelbon shut down Mark Texiera, Michael Young, Vladamir Guerrero, Vernon Wells, and Alex Rios recently. Tough to beat that. He has like 12 strikeouts in only 4 saves.

You act as though the Yankees have already clinched the AL East. do no longer count quantity anybody out, the season hasn't even began!! communities can get warm and not each and every thing repeats. Cocky Yankee followers are extremely commencing to tick me off (purely the gloating we-are-dazzling ones nevertheless. no offense to the cool ones, lol!!). don't be too overconfident. The purple Sox won't bypass down and not using a combat. bear in mind that communities can incorporate a marvel season. Did you neglect 2008? The Rays killed each and every of the AL and the Yankees have been omitted of the postseason. something can take place!! by potential of ways, i'm no longer afraid. purely idiots concern over baseball.

Pitching matchups seem to favor the Red Sox but the Yankees have been scoring a lot of runs. I predict Sox win 1 and Yanks win 2

Red Sox win 2 of 3. I mean, c'mon, look at the matchups. Lucky the Yankees get one. Schilling, Beckett, Matsuzaka, get used to it. The AL will see a lot of them.

As a Yankee fan I think Friday's game is the only one the Yankees will win. The other two go to Boston

Its going to be a sobering experience for the Yankees but it doesn't really matter as they only have to play the Sox 19 times and can just tee off on the other teams the rest of the year.

Sox in a sweep.
