You might tell her you just can't go through with performing on stage in front of a lot of people.
Just say "I can't do it and I don't want to mess up the act."
Maybe you could offer to help her find a replacement.

maybe tell her you think you want to do something else (something other than the thing you were planning on doing together). she will probably want to stick with the thing you two were going to do, so she will hopefully say ok and choose another partner. good luck! oh and make sure to tell her that you REALLY REALLY want to do something else and you can only do it with one person. you cant do it in partners.

Guess I'm stupid.....What the hell are you talking about? If someone wants you to do something that you don't want to do, then don't do it. It's your life!
