I'm sure they not only feel bad for what their son has done, but they're also in mourning themselves - and probably kind of scared for their own lives. Give them a break. It wasn't their fault the boy went haywire.

Their culture and principles are way different to those of us Americans.. Respect their silence they are humans too they must feel ashamed and imbarrased to know their son betreyed them by not honoring them.

I feel bad it must be hard to lose a son [dont have any kids im 20] now immagine losing a son who also broke records in a school shooting and gave grief and pain to not just the fam members of the people he killed and wounded but also the whole nation...

May God forgive him and give strength to his family who needs it really bad lets pray for them too and for that lost soul who needed help and didnt get it and acted in such horrible way

I am sure the family are devastated. I am equally sure that they did nothing to contribute to this massacre. Seung was mentally ill, nobody did that to him.
I've seen the unconfirmed report of the parents' attempted suicide. I don't know what the truth is.
The fact that the media have not been all over the family suggests to me that they do know something, but are respecting the family's privacy. If this is so, I salute them for their unaccustomed restraint.
Of course I am curious too, but my compassion for them overrules my curiosity. We don't need to hear from them at this time.

They just lost their son and even though he was a physco they loved him and their son just killed all those people they probably didn't think he would do something like that and its probably harder on them than anybody cas' they lost their son and he caused 32 people to lose their lives not including himself im from virginia and you wouldnt think anybody here would do that because its such a nice state i knew people who went to vt luckily no one was hurt that i knew i wanted to go their but now im not so sure.

Because they are in mourning for the loss of their son as well. Plus, they don't want to be dragged through the media mud and made out to be horrible people because of what their son did. They are innocent people who have done nothing to deserve such treatment. I, for one, respect that.

They are suffering just as much and probably more. This was their son and if at all how could they have prevented this. This is a question they will ask themselves for the rest of their lives. We need to leave this family alone and let them grieve. We cannot blame the family for the failure of their son. I am sure they did the best they could, just as all of us are doing with our children.

If your son or daughter was a murderer and obviously premeditated all of this horror; would you want to be talking to the press?

I highly doubt it.

They are most likely in hiding, I am sure that the authorities are afraid of retribution and retaliation against them.

May we all find compassion for the Cho family as they grieve their loss and come to terms with his actions.

Stop the stalking and reporting on them!

Why are the expected to comment? sorry for what our son did? they're probably a normal family and had no idea their son was such a psycho. There are no words for what his family might feel.

His family members are all probably very ashamed and embarassed. Not to mention, they are also mourning the loss of a loved one.
