I blame the school for putting the students at a disadvantage. If just one victim (or witness) had had a gun of their own at the time, this would have been stopped much sooner.
The media failed to report two recent failed school shootings that ended when the lunatic shooting at everyone was shot and killed by other students who had guns nearby. In one case, the hero was arrested for being in possession of a firearm in a gun-free zone.
The university should be held liable for their negligence inherent in their campus gun-ban.
The following link is to Tulane University's student newspaper: "The Hullabaloo", which once dedicated its entire op/ed page to hateful ranting against a student who suggested that lifting the school's campus gun-ban would help end the string of rapes and armed robberies on and near campus: http://media.www.thehullabaloo.com/media/storage/paper958/news/2005/02/04/Views/Letters.Re.Peter.Egan.Jr-1988477.shtml

Of course the media won't talk about those failed school shootings. Most of the media is liberal and gun control is one of their main issues. It would go against what they're feeding americans with their wooden spoons. Not to mention, but most of the liberal media only wants to report on really dramatic stories because it gets them more viewers. Just look at ABC news, or as i like to call it "the daily doom and gloom".
Buddha, how high is your IQ? -2? -4? I'm just wondering...because you seem like the typical liberal idiot. I don't exactly understand how you can connect Bush at all to what happened. I'm actually coming to hate you for your stupidity...

Good point!
For the person who said the media is liberal, people also like to say the media is run by NeoCons. The truth most likely actually lies somewhere between. This happens to nearly all stories... some facts left out some opinions forced upon us.... etc.... Could it be that there is a hidden agenda... only this agenda belongs to both groups of politicians... maybe the bigger agenda is bigger than abortions, gay marriage, or gun control.... maybe even bigger than the Iraq War. Maybe no matter what some people want to make sure this country heads in a certain direction and the other issues where the differences show are really non issues created to give us the illusion of control... weird concept huh...??

The ACLU for fighting so hard to take God out the public arena.
The more we take God out of things, the less compassion those things have.
This young man would have been supported far more often and his temper wouldn't have reached a boil over point.
You can all speculate all you want and frown at this answer BUT these things just didn't happen before we starting taking God out of the picture. At least nowhere near as often and when they did, the were not even close to this bad.

Cho is the ONLY one responsible. He made a choice. That ban was voted in to effect by the citizens of that city. What would you be saying if the students did have guns and shot a professor for failing him.

I blame Cho Seng-Hui.
Maybe that is because I am conservative and believe that ultimate responsibility rests on the individual. But also because everybody else had the exact same opportunity to do what Cho did and they chose to live within the laws of their community and their school. If it was the school's fault, you would see shootings like this everyday at Virginia Tech.
Liberals will blame the school, the nation, the Constitution, gun laws, his parents, government, the President, Karl Rove. . . anything to duck personal responsibility for one's actions.
Liberals are irresponsible.

Only one guy pulled the trigger, he is to blame.
The rest is just BS and excuses, although I do agree that with concealed carry allowed or even promoted someone could have ended this much sooner by taking the scumbag out...

I do not think anyone is to blame but I DO think this political correctness dreamed up by the democommies was a STRONG factor involved in the situation getting out of hand.

The person to blame is the South Korean guy who shot up everyone. He couldn't have stopped himself, he could have gone to councling and stuff.
But maybe he was really crazy and the voices in his head finally took the best of him.
(I also feel bad for the South Korea, just that one guy makes that entire country look bad and it shouldn't be that way.)

the person at fault in all of these shootings are the people who commit the crimes, but those who prevent law abiding people from carrying guns are enablers no different than a spouse who makes excuses for an alcoholic spouse
