am i feeding my red crabs right.
I have been giving them packet blood worm but today bought some crab pellets designed for all crustation shelled crabs. i popped them in the tank, they walded over to them, had a small munch and a fiddle then walked off.

Does this mean they dont like them, or are they just waiting til they are hungry.

i feed them ( 3 small red crabs) blood worm every 36hrs. am i doing it right or have i just fussy red crabs.

You might be giving them more food than what they want, or they just aren't recognizing the pellets as food yet - they probably will eat these. Also, depending on how long you've had them, they might just be getting used to a new tank or not liking the conditions in their present one.

Even though the red clawed (and fiddler) crabs are sold as freshwater crabs, they need to have some salt in their tanks and a way to get completely out of the water. They also like a pH above 7 and a fairly hard water (in terms of calcium). Most owners don't know this, because they aren't told about the proper living arrangements needed when they buy them.

It sound like they are picky eaters. I had the same problem with my cat fish they love shrimp pellets but when I bought them regular disc shaped food they would not eat it they would just nobble at it but then swim away.
Just a not I had red crabs once they become very aggressive towards each other when they shed their shells. Once the crab has shed its shell then its vulnerable and the other crabs or fish in the tank will go after it and rip it apart. Make shore that the crabs have lots of hiding places.

You are doing it almost right, but it seems they dont like the crab pellets. They are designed more for hermit crabs than red crabs. Red crabs prefer bloodworm, daphnia, brine shrimp, and tropical quintet, they get a more varied diet if you feed a mixture
