a -100. That is a negative 100 on a scale of 1-10. There is pre ejaculation and it only takes one little sperm to get you pregnant and there are millions in a drop. Terrible method, please if you are going to be mature enough to have sex, be responsbile enough to get on good birth control and use condoms to prevent STD's.

It really depends. I have a friend that uses it. Her cycle is regular though. If you know your body you can give it an 8. She knows when she is ovulating an during those days she uses a condom or avoids sex. In the days that she is "safe" she is confident using the withdrawal method. Please, DO NOT use this method if you don't know your body. In order to use this method you have to carefully take your temperature first thing every morning, check your cervix and vaginal discharge every day. You can read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility: The Definitive Guide to Natural Birth Control, Pregnancy Achievement, and Reproductive Health" (Revised Edition) by Toni Weschler, it is a GREAT book that will help you a lot in how to take care of and understand your body.

Since my first child was conceived using the withdraw method (and birth control) I'd have to say a 1. I know a few married couples that use that method and have yet to have a kid but they are also open to the idea of having children. If it would be really bad if your partner got pregnant, I wouldn't take the chance.

There are problems with using withdrawal as a contraceptive method. First, a man may release sperm before he has an orgasm. Secondly, a man needs self-control and a precise sense of timing to be able to withdraw his penis from the woman's vagina before he ejaculates. Because this can be difficult for the man to do successfully, the withdrawal method is only about 75-80% effective in preventing pregnancy.

***Obviously not fool proof, though it may decrease your likelihood of getting pregnant***

A 2.

Seriously, it's only about 76% effective. Not that great a method, eh?

And it's not stupid for asking - stupid would be not asking and counting on withdrawal as a contraception choice.

What do you call two people who practice the withdrawal method?
Parents!

Well I got preggo on birth control so this method would have really not worked! LOL! Uhm I would have to say if you use withdrawal method and also chart your most fertile days and avoid them it should be about a 4.

I would have to give the withdrawal method a -5. It is the riskiest, most unpredictable method with the highest possible rate of failure. Using withdrawal as a birth control method is as good as saying "Somebody knock me up, Please!" You are just asking for pregnancy and all the ruination to your life that pregnancy will bring. If you aren't old enough or mature enough to go to a doctor and get REAL BIRTH CONTROL, then you don't have any business having sex.

I'd say like a 2. I have gotten pregnant twice like that. I'm pregnant with number 3 now using that method. I don't think its very effective at all.
