generally, yes there are (by far). except for UC Merced, which is fairly new and unestablished.

UC's are also more prestigous, most are ranked in top 50 shools in US (UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara) . While not a single CSU ranks in the top 50.

frequently, UC faculties are extra useful through fact they get additional money from the State (larger faculties centred on analyze). Cal States are very sturdy college as properly as they have been catching up or maybe passing some UC faculties. Cal States do analyze as properly yet often palms on discovering. It relies upon what you're analyzing. working example, many UC's have not got a school of agencies quite a school of economics. Cal States on the different hand might have a school of agencies. factor observe: many Cal States (SDSU, Cal Poly...) are harder to get into than UC faculties.

The UC schools are much better than the CSU schools. The worst of the UC schools (Riverside -- Merced is too new) is ranked #77 in the country. The best -- UC-Berkeley is the highest rated public university in the country and one of the best universities in the world.
There are two major differences between the CSU schools and the UC schools. Those two things are the students and the teachers. CSU schools are not very selective -- while UC schools attract the best students. UCs are research institutions, so the faculty at the UC schools are top notch researchers -- as well as decent teachers. Berkeley, for example, has several Nobel prize winners on the staff -- and they actually teach the students.
UCSD is a very highly rated school -- one of the best public universities in the country. SDSU -- not so much.

UCs are more prestigious. They are really known for great education. They are definitely a step up from Cal States. I got into most Cal States but I didnt even try to apply to any UCs beacause I knew I would not get in. I would tell you to pick UCSD, but if you want really big parties, pick SDSU

Yes, UC schools are better than Cal State schools. They have higher funding, and they do cost more. 1 example is UC Berkeley.

Well, UCLA has a great reputation. I went to CSULA and it was awful. I've also gone to Penn State and a community college (not that those have to do with your question, just saying I have comparisons).
