Go to a team that uses them ( minor league, legion, over 40 league, college, wherever u can) and ask them for their broken ones. Bats can get slight cracks near the handle and players wont use these anymore but they should be fine for you since you are cutting them up. Or try Ebay or a used sporting goods store like PlayItAgain
