Hmmm, let me think for a second. Maybe I should be gay so that.....

1) I face being cut off from my friends and family.
2) People will pick on me cause I'm different.
3) Government will try to prevent me from marrying the people I get into a relationship with...

Yeah, it's a decision we all must face. Why did you guys choose to be gay? Wouldn't it have been much easier and socially acceptable to be straight?

you answered your question with your question. why would anyone choose those things you described? no one would ever choose that. people are gay because they are born gay just like you were born straight. the only choice gay people make regarding being gay is self acceptance, they choose to accept who they are.

I've typed this time and time again, so listen up. It is NOT a choice. Noone chooses to be gay, they've just accepted who they were. If you do some research, you'll see that the developement of homosexuality is strongly related to genetics, and to a much lesser extent, the enviornment contributes. you can't just change your sexuality, You didn't wake up one morning and be attracted to guys/girls depending on if you're a guy or a girl and be straight, and others didn't choose to be gay. Simple as that

A immediately human being who publicizes homosexuality is a decision is a hypocrite, simply by the indisputable fact that human being did not "opt for" to have an interest in the different sex. Is someone born gay? i'm no longer useful; the ambience in all likelihood helps structure one's sexual decision quite. Regardless, in basic terms bigots call homosexuality a decision. Believing it truly is a decision supplies them an excuse to discriminate and sense morally more beneficial.

I want to add on to this with a few facts.
1. Did you know that the average gay man lives to an average of 40 years?
2. Did you know that the average lesbian lives to an average of 42 years?
3. Did you know that, in proportion, twice as many gays are addicted to alcohol than straights?
4 Did you know that a gay man has a 70% risk of getting an STD in his or her lifetime?
5. Did you know that a homosexual has a 20% chance of getting HIV in their lifetime?
6. Did you know that 20% of homosexual couples have problems with physical abuse?

Just wanted to throw that out into the open.

it is not choice.
it is not something that somone chooses.
in my opinion, someones gay is just like someone straight. gay/straight just a sexual orientation. it doesnt determine a person.

it is not choice.

I am not gay either. Straight as a board, but have many gay friends. The embrace it. They are no different then anyone else, they just choose to have sex with men not females. Also, being gay is not all about sex.

maybe its a demon

yeah, the devil made me do it....

I honestly do not care whether it is a choice or not, it does not take away from the fact that gays should not be discriminated against.

I still do not understand why they let NASCAR fans get married. No where does it state that NASCAR fans are allowed to get married. I honestly believe that NASCAR fans are tearing our families apart. They are a bunch of perverts that get off on burning rubber.

You've just given a great argument on why we didn't choose to be gay. Obviously no one would choose to go through all of that.

Yea, and I didn't choose to smoke either. After all, who would choose to take up smoking? I had to be a born smoker. I knew I was going to take up smoking ever since I was 3 years old.

My parents won't let me smoke in their home, the gvmt won't let me smoke in any restaurants, I have to pay more in health care, people make fun of me all the time, and they constantly push me to quit. I can't! You can't change how you were born anymore than you can change the color of your eyes, or change to become left handed!

Wouldn't it just be easier if I choose to be a non smoker?

If you can't chose to be gay how can you expect someone who is gay to chose to be straight? It is not a choice any more than hair or eye color.

I would never choose to be gay, and will deny it forever. I will do everything in my power to change it, and I am going to have sex with a guy this summer, and make myself like it. My brother is gay too, and he told my mom and dad-they now hate him!
