You made your choice when you dropped your panties at the door.

Let me start off by saying I am mostly conservative, except on this issue.
1. It is my body and my choice........ then why do people chastise women who smoke and drink while they are pregnant?
Because I would have to pay for the baby through liberal social programs. Since the baby would be depressed or deformed, naturally that would be my fault because I make more money so I would have to pay for it. Not to mention the additional schooling required or therapy.
2. It is not a life until it can sustain itself outside the womb..............Then I guess premature babys in incubators or on ventilators are not life?
I guess not.
3. The government cant tell me what I can do with my body..............The government does this all the time, it is illegal to use drugs and the government will try to stop you from commiting suicide!
Yes the government does do this all the time and if you believe in freedom from government and less of it than they should stop telling us what to do. After all conservatives are always talking about freedom, then why are we trying to prevent the freedom to choose?
And just as an aside, I personally would never have an abortion, but, I have no right to dictate what YOU or anyone else does. And neither does the government.

1. It is my body and my choice........ then why do people chastise women who smoke and drink while they are pregnant?
Response;
By chastising you are not controling. So again...it is the persons choice. They are allowed that choice.
2. It is not a life until it can sustain itself outside the womb..............Then I guess premature babys in incubators or on ventilators are not life?
Response: It is not true. Life is life period! Sperm for example is a life form. And spermacides aren't argued over. Sperm has a limited lifespan and must fuse with an egg to create ANOTHER lifeform totipotent zygote. The same can be said about birth control pills. And yet that doesnt seem to be addressed.
I am pro choice but I do KNOW that a fetus is a LIFE!
3. The government cant tell me what I can do with my body..............The government does this all the time, it is illegal to use drugs and the government will try to stop you from commiting suicide!
Response:
Ummm...many people still use drugs and commit suicide regardless of it being legal or not! Being legal or illegal is not going to STOP it from happening! It only will cause illegal and dangerous activities! It will also result in more women losing their LIVES when they DO seek illegal abortions and do not have proper treatment! Look into how many women lost their LIFE because of so called "back alley abortions"!!!!
Look...
I have two kids. A boy and a girl. I do not think that I would be all that happy if my daughter was in a situation where she thought that she needed to have an abortion and obtained it illegally and then died. Really! Then 2 lives are lost!
I would rather lose a future grandchild than lose my daughter and grandchild!
Making abortion illegal does not remedy the issue that pro-lifers have with abortion!
The label "pro-life" implies that one supports the notion that EVERY body is entitled to LIVE and that just isnt the case! Pro-life-ers are not really PRO LIFE! They should change their name to "pro-fetus"!
Or is it okay to be hypocritical and say that the mother deserved to die because she was going to abort the fetus? Again...then that is not PRO-LIFE!

I can tell you feel really clever right now. Pity.
1.) I can not believe you are seriously asking this as a question. If a woman chooses to risk the health of the child she wishes to keep by intaking drugs, she is making serious, grave mistakes. However, a woman in a situation she can't handle? She won't end up with a child who has been cursed with FAS - a growing problem, and the largest cause of mental retardation in the United States.
2.) Premature babies ("ies" not "ys", I should add for your personal benefit) are definitely "living". This statement is not something all "pro-choice people" (quite a diverse group) are going to agree with. You fail to recognize that abortion is a difficult decision brought on by difficult circumstances. You being a male really have no say in delicate matters like this anyway.
3.) You CAN use drugs. You CAN kill yourself. The government doesn't want you to use drugs because you would be putting your life in danger, and possibly the health and lives of others around you. The same can be said for suicide. There are government funded programs for drug abuse and depression for YOUR protection. Did you ever once consider that having an abortion might be for the benefit of the woman ( and possibly her partner, family, etc. )? I know you'll hate hearing this, but there are *gasp* times when a woman dies during childbirth [internationally, one in thirteen women die from childbirth or related causes (pregnancy)]. Maybe the girl wants to live her own life. Maybe the girl made a mistake. Maybe the girl DIDN'T make a mistake (condoms and even the pill aren't entirely accurate, you know).

1. Chastising is not prevention. Women are legally allowed to smoke and drink while pregnant. You can be opposed to something someone else does; you just don't always have the right to stop them from doing it.
2. Premature babies are able to sustain their own lives. Ventilators only breathe for them. The rest of their organs function relatively properly, or else they wouldn't be alive no matter how many ventilators you use.
3. The government doesn't try to stop people from committing suicide. Suicides happen all the time. When they are prevented, it's because the person didn't really want to die. Someone who wants to kill him-or-herself will find a way to do it. And it's not illegal to use drugs because of what will happen to your body if you do... it's illegal to use them because they can do things to you that put other people into jeopardy.
There. Satisfied?
Here's my biggest argument about why you don't have the right to stop me from getting an abortion: Because abortion is legal.
Period.

It's my body and my choice - Are you sticking the scissors in YOUR brain? Last time I checked, it was the BABY's body being sucked into a vacuum. You already had your choice (keeping your legs shut) and you blew it. Suck it up and be an adult.
It's not a life until it can sustain itself- so, until you are 14 (legal working age), you are a parasite that can be extinguished at any point? In the logical world, that's called murder. What difference does it make if you are feeding this "thing" through an umbilical cord or with groceries that you buy? You provide shelter in both the womb and at your residence. You provide everything it needs until it is at least 14. The difference between an "unhuman" fetus and a child is?
The gov't can't tell me what I can do with my body - commit murder, commit suicide, prostitution, use drugs, commit assault, speed, torture, shall I continue? There are a slew of things the government says you can't do.

1. Because if they are pregnant then they've chosen to keep the baby and therefore should not be doing anything to harm it.
2. This statement isn't something I believe. Once the fetus can sustain life in the womb then it is life. So of course premies are life.
3. Let's keep the government out of as much of our lives as possible. Why do you want the government to tell you or anyone what to do?

Here's a really GOOD thought on the subject.....
If she is not your wife/girlfriend/signnificant other....
MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!!!
1. If I smoke while pregnant....guess what?? IT'S MY CHOICE!
2. My son was a preemie!! He's just fine and NEVER would I have taken away his ventilator!
3. The government tells you what you can and can't do EVERY DAY!! (Pay your taxes is a BIG one)
So....let people make the choice they feel is right and worry about your own life!

I'm sorry, where does it say it is illegal to use drugs? It is illegal to possess or sell, but not use. They don;t go around drug testing people and locking them up for testing positive. Next, life that can be sustained outside the womb IS life...if in an incubator, it is viable. if not, it isn't. Next, it is ridiculolus to say 'since people judge women, it is not their body'. It is. That is why it is not illegal to smoke when you are pregnant, or drink. And finally, the reason why it is legal and protected is because you cannot make laws for women only. it is EQUAL PROTECTION. Govt doesn't go into YOUR doctor's office, they can't go in mine either.

1. If you are going to carry the child to term you are causing harm to the developing body systems. If you are going to abort spark up.
2. The premature baby is out of the womb and a viable human. That is not so of a few cells that have divided in the womb.
3.The government does not want to pay for your drug rehab but they will let you drink. Most pro choice advocates want legalized drugs and if you want to kill yourself knock your self out but tax dollars have to go to clean you up so therefore it is illegal.
My questions to you:
1.Why do you think you have the right to tell anyone what to do?
2. Do you realize your God and morality are not mine or better everyones.

1) they are chastised aggressively FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome) is a serious problem
2) I dont think this is a complete encapsulation of the idea. They usually go with 24 weeks the point at which with ventilators etc are effective
3) this is true. Saying those with a uterus somehow have separate and distict control over their bodies isnt a good arguement.
