i am extremely insecure about my body. for months i was gradually losing weight and feeling fabulous, and then i went to america for two weeks and completely lost my self control. i havent been able to get back on my normal diet and exercise routine since, and im terribly afraid of gaining back all the weight i so successfully lost.

my first problem is that i keep beating myself up for eating the occasional sweetie (when i used to never allow myself any sugar) so how can i overcome my insecurity?

secondly, how can i take control of my life again and make sure this extra weight goes away once and for all?

an occasional sweetie is ok. and if you are healthy, be happy.
I'm insecure about my body. my man tells me that he just wants me fit and healthy.
he wants me to be able to run short distances without getting all out of breath and tired. he has made me comfortable with my size.
weight doesn't matter because muscle weighs more than fat. so for my height, I'm "over weight" according to some. but i have more muscle than fat.
so I'm ok. so don't look at how much you weigh on the scale. look at yourself in the mirror, and make sure you can chase your boyfriend/siblings/dog around without feeling like you're going to pass out.
and NEVER ever skip a meal or two or any meal to loose weight. that is the most unhealthy way to loose weight.

After having three children (and there will probably be more) I have learned the best way to keep off weight is to set realistic goals. Make small changes in your diet and lifestyle that are maneagable for you, lest you throw in the towel when it gets too tough.

These small changes have made a big difference for me when I implemented them altogether:

1. Eat 1 less helping at each meal
2. Replace some refined sugars and starches with whole grain (brown rice instead of white, wheat rolls instead of white, whole grain cereal instead of rice or oats, etc.)
3. If you add sugar to drinks, switch to Splenda
4. Pick a few days a week where you will only have water instead of drinks like cola, lemonade, sweet tea, etc.
5. Pick a few days a week that you will take a walk with somebody for about 30 minutes.

These are just some ideas. There are lots of other good choices that will make a difference and don't require HUGE efforts.

By the way, don't beat yourself up for "eating the occasional sweetie." Cutting them out altogether obviously is not working for you, so just apply the "80-20 rule." That is - do the right things 80 percent of the time and that will make up for the 20% when you don't.

Best of luck!

i suppose you have to be up entrance and ask him truthfully. if he real loves you, he's going to be fair and say he isnt doing some thing like that. with the intention to make you think plenty higher :)
