I know that when women have it, it's usually because they have been raped and want to drown out the memory with a controlled reenactment. What causes a man to have the brutal fantasy?

I'm not talking about a fantasy of actually being raped or raping. I'm talking about a sexual session with a trusted friend/partner where they act out a violent rape scene.
I'm not wondering so much what they are thinking, I know it has something to do with control. I wan to know what is the root cause, like some kind of trauma. (generally speaking).

Men and women can be raped. Your hypothesis about females is therefore entirely applicable to males as well.
Rape fantasies can also represent an outlet for sexually submissive and/or dominant individuals. In such fantasies they can imagine themselves as having or lacking sexual control or power without actually participating in an illegal or immoral act.

Remember, it is fantasy. women don't have it because they were raped and men don't have it because they are likely to go out and rape a woman. Not that rape is always a man raping a woman, but lets keep it to that for simplicity's sake.
It is control and release. For the man it is probably the only time he will have complete control over a woman, ornery critters that we are, because the victim will not fight much. In fact, in most rape fantasies, the woman is not really a victim as much as a willing participant. For a woman, it is having sex with a complete stranger with no need of guilt feelings because she is not responsible in any way. It can all be blamed on someone else.

Rape is not about having sex. Rape is about being in control-and rage. A lot of rapists are angry at women in general-be it anger issues to a mother figure or a woman who has scorned him.
I would think a man that has a rape fantasy has some issues. As for a woman, I would have no idea why anyone woman would have a rape fantasy. For either side, I would think having a willing participant would be much more enjoyable.

I think its a matter of wanting ultimate control over a sexual situation. I allowed my boyfriend to act out his rape fantasy on me. At first I thought it was strange because he is one of the nicest, nonviolent people I know. During the fantasy, however, I realized it wasn't about torture, but about the want of total control. When we have sex, it's a two way street, and he just wanted a taste/glimpse of what it would be like to dominate. It's not un-normal for the want of domination during sex, it's just that some guys channel that want into a rape fantasy.

Feeling powerless about his life in general, or relationships with women in particular. Rape is about power, not sex. In the fantasy the guy gets the power that real life denies him.

Actually that is probably one of the main fantasies females have and is not due to being raped or abused.

Yes, its about both sex and power -- but it is rooted in sexual frustration.

Maybe for the same reason. Usually abusers were abused. I dont really get it, but I know people like that and they have told me that they do it for the control.. so yea I would think thats the same reason a rapist does it. Ugh im gonna stop on this one. Hope that helps:)

No life, no girlfrien, is going to live with mom till he's 50, is going to probably rape mom if he doesn't find a girl, and he's perverted. I don't even look at pron because it's not right and i like my gf more than some sick, disgusting sex.
