You need not worry. However, when requesting information...a part of the process is to insure your integrity.

Advise the investigator of the circumstances and I'm sure you will find his/her response very positive.

I got my secret clearance in the Army, still have it as a matter of fact . . .

I had two arrests prior to 18 years of age, both were misdemeanors, but neither went to court.

You should be OK. The most you should have to do is sworn statements explaining what happened. Just dont bring it up if it was expunged.

Answer the questions honestly. Admit to and explain the misdemeanor. "Sealed and Expunged" does Not Apply to a background investigation for a security clearance. They will find it!

Having a criminal record 'sealed and expunged' does not really mean very much.

You'll be just fine. I had the same thing and nearly qualified for "top secret" clearance for entering naval intelligence.

I was turned down on the grounds of debt. That's it.

(For top secret, your total debt has to be less than 20% of your annual pay. Buy a car on credit and you're done. This is to prevent poeple from being desperate enough to sell national secrets to pay bills. "Secret" level, what I had from boot camp on, is not so restrictive.)
