I feel they could save money by eliminating Saturday deliveries. I get so little mail on any day that couldn't wait another day.

Fare increases surprise no one with these fuel price increases. Everything goes up together. Fortunately, the labor market makes wages rise also eventually. This is why Fed Minimum wage is silly to pump up. In many areas, esp tourist areas, businesses can't get English speaking help less than $8-10.00/hour. One problem post office has always had !) Rent their facilities at going rate. 2) Pay a nice salary in NY City so have to pay the same EVERYWHERE, even in areas where $20/hour plus is ridiculous for a stamp window clerk. Ordinary clerks receive $8/10/12 maybe if very lucky AND risk robberies usually not associated with Post offices since Jesse James stopped robbing mail trains.

You have to keep in mind that technology has slowed down the old ways of communication, like snail mail. As the usage of email increases, the prices to snail mail will continue to increase. People pay their bills online and send invitations online now. In a few years, the postal service will almost be out of business.

Every increase is painful. However, it's still relatively cheap compare with other means of mail delivery services.

They should just raise it to $.50. Then they wouldn't need to raise it for awhile. It is still relatively cheap to send letters in the U.S.

This is just one of millions of things that increase in price every year. I only wish my paycheck would increase like everything else.
