I have 2 red ear sliders and 10 rosy red minnows.

I bought the rosy reds as feeder fish for the turtles last night but the turtles have not ate them nor gone after them much at all. This is the first time that i have fed them feeders. I find it very strange that they have not ate them. Maybe its because they never had them before.

Today I bought some "nutrafin goldfish flakes" food for the rosy reds incase the turtles dont eat them at all, and the rosy reds continue to live.

I was just wondernig, is it ok for the turtles to eat that fish food?

and Since they have not ate the feeders...i fed them their regluar pellet food again.

If you check the ingredients on both the turtle and fish foods, you'll probably find that they're similar. Fish meal, shrimp meal, wheat, oat, maybe some algae, etc. The food just comes in different forms.

Your RES will eventually eat lettuce - use romaine or darker greens, not iceberg lettuce - but at the age they are for their size, they won't be interested yet - they're protein eaters when they're young, gradually switching over to more vegetation in their diet as they mature.

The fish food is fine, but the minnows will probably die of old age. I've always given my sliders live jumbo crickets as a treat, provided you've given them a basking spot out of the water. Pretty amazing to watch how fast they can chase them down. If you have young turtles they are too small to eat fish, and get smaller crickets.

I wouldn't worry about them eating the fish food. Although the ingredients may or may not be part of a turtles primary diet, I doubt there would be anything in there that would hurt them if they ate it. Most fish food is made of freeze dried algae and other types of vegetation depending on what kind of fish it is for.

Feed the turtles lettuce. My cousins turtles love lettuce. They buy romain lettuce. Just stick a leaf in there and they chow down.
