I would tell them to learn to cook and read ingredient labels on packaged foods. Its shocking whats in our food supply that so many people are blissfully unaware of. If I dont know exactly what an ingredient is, or where it comes from, I dont eat it until I research it. I am stunned at what the FDA allows in food! For example, google carmine-which is red food color thats in practically everything! Its an education in itself. Because heat and served commercial packaged foods are so readily available, home cooking is becoming a dying art. I have been teaching my 12 year old daughter to cook since she was old enough to stand on a stool at the kitchen counter. Now, she can cook with the big guns, and I feel confident knowing she will pass these skills on to her children
