Mac: Hi I'm a Mac
PC: And, Hi, I'm a PC

PC: Say Mac, we can't really tell who people find more attractive. Your flashy graphic design features, or my sophisticated programming capabilities.

Mac: I bet people find us equally attractive, PC.

PC: Oh really, do you want me to take this to Yahoo! Answers?

Mac: I doubt we have to go that far, PC

I asked a similar question earlier, without bias..but I'll throw my two cents in here.

I've been using Macs since 1989 (with a quick diversion into the PC world in 1999). Macs are by far the superior system in every way possible.

1. Support. I hear alot of people whine about how PCs are more prevalent therefore they are better supported. Not true. There may not be an Apple Store near you but their factory support is excellent, not the mention the fact that head-to-head, a Mac is less likely to need servicing versus a PC. Case in point, a great bulk of PC service calls are due to virus infections that slow down or interfere with the machine's CPU process. As stated below, Mac virus's are rare if nonexistent. Bought a PC from CompUSA recently? Good luck with that support!

2. No virus problems. Now if everyone owned a Mac, this may not be the case. It's a valid arguement that the prevelance of PC viruses out there are due to the number of users. However, I believe (and call this a conspiracy theory) that most viruses are written by insiders from the anti-virus software developers, hence, extorting the end users for 'protection' money.

3. Mac OS X is more stable, easier to use and much more intuitive than Windows. Proprietary hardware matched with proprietary software means less hassle for the end user. No drivers to mess with either. That's a plus.

4. Intel Macs can run Windows natively, and faster than their PC counterparts. Why you would want to run Windows, I don't know.

5. Macs come with everything you need right out of the box, including productivity software. Windows gives you time limited demos. Take iLife for example... equivelent software for the PC would run you hundereds of dollars, more if you invest in Microsoft Office. Mac has an Office compatable equivelant. Included, free. When you take this fact into consideration, along with some accessories and upgrades that are standard on Macs, it kind of makes the pricing arguement moot.

6. Resale value. Macs hold their value 2/1 vs. equivelant PCs. You'll be able to sell your Mac and upgrade for much more than you would that P3.

I prefer the Mac. Why? Because I have used it all my life and personally hate Windows. The GUI of Mac OS X is amazing. It looks good. It's easy to use. It just works the way it's suppose to. I find working on a PC to be cumbersome. Why? Because you don't have as much flexibility when working with files. It's harder to see what you're working on all at once (however that does change in Windows Vista, but only in...what version again?) Windows is expensive. Yes it is. Mac OS X costs less than Microsoft Windows. It even costs less than the cheapest version of Windows Vista, and one version of OS X has every feature that Apple promotes. Sure there is a time when you have to use Windows. You can run Windows on a Mac now, so a Mac is really the only computer you'll ever need.

First of all question is worthless. take a look around 90% of the software writen and sold in the U.S. is for a PC . Nearly all business is PC based and people like being able to do things at home the same way they do at work. Learning two systems, learning two sets of software etc is nuts. Even hardward boast "Also Works with MAC with this adapter cord" - that sort of thing. MAC may be the best - but it is still an 'also ran'.

I prefer PCs over Macs solely for the customization option. You can buy PC upgrades and parts at the store but with a MAc dont even try. If I wasnt a geek I would go with Mac because of its functionality and yes, its flashy design and programs.

MACINTOSH by a landslide!

More expensive yes, but you get what you pay for. Want a computer for under $400.00, which includes 5K of ram, a 2 meg HD, a printer, a scanner, a retina scanner , rectal thermometer and a rock-solid 2-year headache agreement, get a PC. Only serious people need to buy a Mac!

If I were a rich person, I'd have a super souped-up one of each. I was an administrator of a mainframe system called Virtual Machine and I'm intrigued by the Mac's ability to run Windows as a heh heh window.

However, realistically and on my budget I must limit myself to one souped up Windows PC as it is unfortunately and due to MS business practices the overall dominator in terms of software and hardware availability.

depends. PCs are more user friendly, but MACs are stabler and I loooove their handles on photoshop / graphics programs. If you're a gamer; get a PC. If you're a designer, get a MAC :)

Macs all the way. I used to be one of the Mac haters until I was forced to use them. I have 1/100th the problems I had with PCs and they are so easy to use. A Mac does everything (except games) better than PCs.
