How much prison time would one get for digging up a dead person's grave and shooting the dead body?

It's a trivia question that I need to get for my Social Studies class and whoever gets the closest to the actual number of in the story automatically gets an A for the semester.

In my opinion, I don't think he/she should get any jail time for digging a dead body and then shooting it. I think he/she should be place in a mental institution.

I would guess you would get 90 in a mental ward, first then there would be charges for shooting a fire arm, grave digging is a felony, so guessing 5 to 10 yrs for that.

Depends on the state and if is a first offense or not

If is first offense you'd probly just get a fine and community service.

Past that probly looking at a month maybe up to a year

Well it depends on where you live...some states have pretty stiff (no pun intended...well, yeah...I meant it!!!) penalties for desecrating a body....I would bet the prison time would be substantial...
Case in point: a local funeral home was found to have been mixing human ashes and animal ashes in their crematorium....the funeral home owner/director got quite a few years behind bars (I'm sorry I don't recall exactly how many) for "desecration of human remains"...

No prison time, but several years probation and a large fine.

Maybe 90 days to a year in jail, it isn't too serious of a crime, though it is pretty disturbing.
