That's tough, They should not have released it YET. But everyone knew that he sent something to NBC...people would demand to know what it was. Funny how we are entitled to info after the fact, but not before, like with his medical records. I agree, since he cokmpared himslef to the Columbine kids...it willjust be a matter of time before some other kid needs, and gets, attention. in fact, in Detroit, we have had several threats, etc...this week alone

While yes, we do have a free press, just because you can say or show something doesn't mean you really should. I think they at least should have waited before they released any of it. The problem is I'm sure we'll see copy cats of this. Now not only will you be famous for shooting people, but the news will blast your face and words 24 hours a day when you send in your well crafted and edited video.

I think NBC just couldn't say no to the ratings. I laughed when watching one clip and i think it was Brian Williams says something to the effect of "We really debated about showing this, its terrible stuff" and then 30 seconds later says "You'll be able to see more tomorrow on Today"

And besides just the curiousity factor, theres not really any news value even in the tapes and other stuff. Its just rambling and angst ridden. Advertising money won out to reason and respect to the families.

The mentality of "why" someone would want to copycat Cho is the problem!
If we address the cause ....we can better correct the problem!

The news serves the consumer!

People have sick needs sometimes!

Movies like Saw and The Exorcist make $$Millions for a reason!

Informat- you forget everything that was broadcast during the Columbine killings- those guys left quite a trail for Cho, or anyone else, to learn from and follow.

I think, when it comes to the news, we can be spared the gorey details of horrific crimes.

Painful as it was, I am glad to have seen the video. I want to see the others that Cho included.

We have freedom of press in America, and it is our right to know.

NBC handled the situation very well condsidering the situation. They had every right to show select portions of the video.

Its a good question. The next day a highschool in my area had a bomb threat. those types of things are really rare so obviously it was a result of some idiot influenced by that.
Still though I dunno about not showing it or showing it.
Its a dilemma.

I don't know. It was pretty disturbing. But, you know, he seemed to glorify the Columbine murderers and there was no video manifesto of them, so who knows.
