You would need to call your stores and find out. I know the large chain stores do NOT buy animals from individuals. I work in a locally owned pet store, and we DO pay for some fish.. We LOVE to get our stuff from local people if at all possible..BUT .. It depends a lot on 1. what kind 2. the fish's health and 3. How much you are wanting. If the store sells the fish for say $1.99 each, you can be sure that you will probably only get between 50 cents and a dollar each. The only way to know for sure is to call your local pet stores and ask. Each store is different on their policies.

As stated already, many large pet chain stores will not buy from small breeders. They buy from large breeders and wholesalers. Your local privately owned fish stores will by from you and may give you up to 45-50 cents a fish if they are large and well breed with color. But note these stores are not going to buy hundreds of fish from you either. Maybe 10 or so at a time, so you will not be getting a large return.
Every once in a while you may find a wholesaler who will by from you as well, again you will not get much especially for mollies.
Another thing to consider is that your stores will not be able to give you cash (legally) for your fish unless you have a business/aquaculture license. I live in FL and a aquaculture license is 50$ a yr. You have to consider weather or not you will be able to make your money back on what you are breeding. Most small breeders will sell to privet buyers through classifieds and websites like aquabid. Good Luck!

Most of them will only give you store credit for them at the wholesale price. If you go that route, ask for the merchandise at wholesale price.
I would suggest joining a fish club in your area and going to some of the fish auctions that are in and around most big cities. Here in Cleveland, we have at least six clubs within an hour's drive and an auction almost every month somewhere close.
Try to find a livebearer club if you can. Check with the pet stores, they usually know which customers are members or are heavily involved with fish.

If you are not a registered breeder, chances are no they will not. Live breeders as well are usully raised by owners to save on costs. They may exchange them for credit towards more fish. Mollies are such easy fish to breed so LFS usually raise them on their own and will not BUY fish from non registered breeders. If you manage to be able to sell them you won't get a whole heck of a lot for them. Perhaps around .25 or less each.

I'm not sure where you live. But here in ohio where I live the pet stores will not buy fish that they have not ordered. They are afraid of bringing in contaminated fish that they will not get their money back on. When ordering through a catalog or supplier as they do they can get money back if something is wrong with one of the animals, and it makes the other animals sick. If I was you I would check with your local pet store first. You could possibly sell them on craigs list or kaboo also.

Independent pet stores, probably. If you approach it right , have good quality stock and offer more than one type for a good price then they probably will. You know they don't pay much for Mollys though, right? Don't expect a big price.
Be aware you will have to raise them until they are the size you buy at the store as well. It's very tough to not lose money doing that.

Our local paper here will allow you to place an ad if item selling is under $300.00 for free. I place ads all the time and get phone calls all the time. I have a good repore with my local pet store and if they don't have mollies, guppies, or platys, or swords the give them my card and tell them to call me. On a months average I sell around $100.00.

No. Most pet stores (big chains, like Petco & Petsmart), order their fish from a particular place. They do not accept fish from anyone who walks in their door (nor do they accept rodents, birds, etc.).
They're not allowed to sell animals that have not come from the place they order from.
Small business pet shops might, but it's best to call and ask in advance!
