It could be the remains of a bubble nest. It could also be a film of bacteria, or protien which is the result of over feeding, and under cleaning. You should be only feeding once a day 6 days a week. The amount should be small about the size of his eye ball. In an unfiltered container 2.5+ gallon you need to change the water once a week. In smaller container every 4 days.

Fish water needs to be refreshed on a regular basis, whether it is a small bowl, or a large tank! New tapwater refreshes the water, adding nutrients, minerals, and oxygen, as well as removing some of the bad nitrate levels.
Some people say water should be changed every day, some say every 2 days, and some say once a week.
If you have betta's in a small bowl, then the water change is quite easy. Simply take a glass and remove a glassful of water, dump it in the sink, rinse out the glass, and then fill it with tapwater and pour that straight into the fishbowl.
Remember: Never clean more than 20% of the water at once, as it will put strain on the fish.

considering the fact that it is not any longer your first time protecting bettas, then i'd propose which you progression on right into a tank. As small 2.5-5 gallon tank is taken into consideration necessary to the well being of a betta. A 2.5-5 gallon tank would not take lots area. it is with regard to the size of your video demonstrate demonstrate. You definetely would desire to disguise the perfect of the tank. All fish tanks would desire to be lined. the disguise keeps the evaporation interior the tank so no longer somewhat some water would be misplaced. I doubt your fish died of all age. it is possibly the bowl which you have stored them in. Bettas choose filtration and heating platforms. Bettas are tropical fish for that reason they choose heat water. Filtration is the main important fuction. The filter out, in everytank, helps save the ammonia point down. persons are making a extensive quantity of money attempting to sell those stupid bowls. They serve no sturdy to fish. For fish, it is like residing in ****!

One way to try to resolve this is to place a few bits of kitchen roll over the surface of the water to absorb the film. I think this should help you out

Yep, that would be a good idea. The film could be from many different things, but it all means you need to change the water.
