If Guns Kill People

2016-11-09 20:44:11 · answer #2 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

Rae mentioned that there hasn't been a gun death in Japan (outside of the Mayor of Nagasaki) in 30 years yet in 2001 a derranged man went to a private school in Japan and killed 8 students and injuring 21 others with a 6" kitchen knife.

Ban kitchen knives?

Someone else asked what other weapon could kill 30 people in less than 2 minutes? A bomb can kill more in just seconds, just watch the news from Iraq. Plans for bombs can easily be found on the internet.

Ban the internet?

If someone is hell-bent murdering as many people as he or she can they'll use whatever means to do so. On September 11, 2001 over 3000 were murdered without a single shot fired.

The problem isn't with guns, it's with society and it's pretty screwed up!

Just know when the time is to use a gun,and where the bullet is going before you pull the hammer back, and pull the trigger. Then if you know these simple rules, and information from being trained properly with a gun,and you have the proper authorization papers to own or carry concealed weapons, there shouldn't be any issues about gun matters at all to really begin with.So be advised, and get the information straight for a change people, before shooting off wrong ideas about how it's wrong to even use a gun.or own one.Remember, guns are only tools. It's the person who decides to act rational or foolish with a tool, that ends up deciding if the person gets hurt or killed with a tool,or not.

All of you have made some kind of vaild argument for both sides, however, i especially like the one about how a pencil has an eraser rosie can go on a diet etc. But for the person who pointed the only other lame exuse that pro gun people try to use "well japan had a murder" great we should all arm our selves because Japan that has a no guns rule had their mayor was assisanated a couple of days ago yes thats genius. Japan has no deaths by gun in over 30 years but we had 30 deaths in one day now their law and every other country with a gun ban, who have all experience extremely low crime rate doesn't make sense lets all go get guns, wait 1/4 of us already do and VA leading the country in that ratio.
I believe in the right to bare arms in order to create and call up a malitia. Switzerland (another relativly peaceful society) where all males are required to have gun practice and are encourge to have guns in their home but also required to be apart of the militia if needed i mean there, there is only about 300 deaths a year and thats mainly suicides and family murders so were good.
Not to mention for both hunting and the right to build a militia i wouldn't exaxctly use a 9-mm Glock and a .22-caliber pistol. I believe in the right as it was stated in the consitution but if your gonna call us damn libs and don't sound like such an *** doing it and give us some real arguments for your pro gun stance

You are correct...the problem is not the tools that are used for either good or bad...it is the people that use them. It all falls on the person who committed the crime. I will say now some of these posts are good and bad and well misinformed but posted to state their facts. I will say this...Your statement is to show everyone that the people who commit the crime are responsible. A gun is just a tool nothing more. For those of you who think guns are just made for killing your are correct and everyone has the right to make this decision, some of us fail. However I will tell you ignorant people that pencils can kill, cars can kill hell even spoons can kill, not only that trees can kill, water can kill, nature kills all the time....I have seen a few of these items used to kill. So tell me how are guns all bad? A very useful tool at the time of their creation without them you would not be here in America, no one would be here and you would not have the opinions you do.

It is absolutely ridiculous that anyone can walk into a gunshop and purchase a gun, as did the shooter from Virgina Tech. If that disturbed man was not able to purchase a gun, then 33 innocent lives could have been saved. I can't believe people don't think gun control is related to all of this. There needs to be stricter legislation on gun control. I think it's absolutely ridiculous that people in Texas and other backwards southern-conservative/republican states walk around with guns.

The old saying that people kill people is very true. It would not matter if they had a gun or not. If someone is going to commit murder they are going to find a way to do it, weather they have a gun or not. This is not about gun control. What are you all gonna do if the goverment decides to take away your right to bear arms? You really think people are just gonna roll over and hand over the guns? Why would you want your government to have that much control anyways, I sure as hell would never let them!!

So why don't we just let the Charlie Manson's, the Jeff Dahmer's, and The Hannibal Lectre's of the world all have guns and that way, we'll have something to take target practice on; that is, provided you can stay awake 24/7 and protect your family. What a bunch of goofballs!! No one is talking about taking away gun rights, just keeping them away from the "Cho's" out there who may want to massacre some more people next week or maybe tomorrow. What if your son, daughter, sister, or wife are next? What will you think then?

Guns are machines designed to kill easier and faster. Had the Virginia Tech killer used a knife, would more people be alive? I think yes. He would have met resistance from all of his victims.

The point of gun control is to make killing innocent people harder not easier. If the government would trust the good judgement of people then everybody should be able to own bombs and machine guns and weapons of mass desctruction and the means to deploy them. Has it ever crossed your mind that people with weapons kill people faster and easier than people with no weapons.?

If Bill Gates decided to produce a nuclear weapon he would have the cash to finance the research and the development. Should we give them the right to have nuclear weapons? Can't we trust his good judgement?

Is American Democracy so fragile that it needs its citizens armed in case an American President would become a dictator and decided to opress its people? The whole idea sounds ridiculous.

The makers of guns make more money when a war is being waged. During peace times they finance the research and development involved in making guns more cheap and deadly by selling them to people that are so stupid to believe they need a gun.

As I said earlier, gun control should make killing innocent people harder and not as easy as it has been shown by the Virgina Tech killer that it actually is.
