Europeans have literally hundreds of ways that they tie their scarves (see the movie le Divorce for examples).

lyk fold it in half then put it round ur neck then pull the scarf through the we whole n da scarf!

this looks very cute with something like a winter scarf:
fold in half, put around neck and pull loose ends through loop made by folded end and pull through until tight around neck
