I guess it would depend on the kind of relationship you have w/ your spouse, but personally, I would not do just because i would not feel comfortable if my spouse told me he had to go on a business trip and i knew he was out drinking and partying w/out me. He wouldn't do it so why would i, right!?!?!?

There is nothing wrong with socializing with co-workers, especially when in an unfamiliar ;'town.' Familiar faces help ease the absence of the hearts right? If just going for a drink and having a few laughs is considered cheating...holy crap...every world leader and millions of others cheat on a regular basis. A realtionship is built on trust isn't it? So have that trust until and unless proved otherwise.

If it was every once in a while - maybe. You can't keep your spouse in a box that would never work, but a married couple has responsibilities that don't include staying out late and drinking especially when they are so far from their spouse.

i do this once a week and im married with a child and most of my coworkers are too. we all have a lot in common in life and work issues too. its nothing sexual and besides we all have a right to relax and worry about nothing at least for a couple of hours a week. my husband says its ok and he trusts me which everybody should until proven wrong.

This is a business trip and I don't see what the problem is. Let me ask you this. What do YOU see as the problem? It can't possibly be the being away and drinking with your work cohorts while on business.
I don't condone this on a regular basis but show me where the harm is or what you find offensive about it.

I see nothing wrong with it, if you are married, you should trust your mate and they should trust you. My husband and I both go out with friends without eachother often. He knows I go out and dance with other guys, but that's all it is ...DANCING and having fun. I see no reason a person shouldn't be able to go out and have fun every once in a while even though they are married. You need to trust that your marriage is strong and they aren't doing anything they shouldn't and neither are you.

If it's with a group of married people that would be fine. However, my husband doesn't drink.
But you should be fine.

Hey , there is politics in the workplace. Don't let anyone tell you different. Socializing is a part of the game. It's the same as the neighborhood ya live in.
