Ex: I have a coworker who seems to ask me questions that she would not have to ask if she only paid attention. Mind you, these are questions that do not pertain to work. For instance, I bought a fold up chair to sit in on my lunch break when it is sunny and read my book. I only did it one day, and today when we returned from lunch, I had ran some errands, i was sitting in my car when she pulled up in hers. I got out of my car, purse and other items in hand, and she says, "So did you pull out your 'thing' today?" I knew she was referring to my lawn chair, but I couldn't think of anything else to say except, "No, I just got out of my car!" It is just so annoying cause she is older than me and she either is (a) really NON observant & dingy and REALLY feels the need to know these things or (b) being sarcastic and nosy with frequently asking these types of questions. I guess you might have to be there with me to understand what i am asking, but am I the only person who feels this?

No, it doesn't. Some people just need more help than others. If the question is a valid one and I can help, I do.

I can't let it because I am one of those people. When I first started here, I used most of my first points asking Where am I? Where is Such-and-Such? and How Do I? When I finally realized all that was forever in my files, I was embarrassed. Had I only been patient I could have asked everything in the Answers search box above us. Fortunately, those stupid questions are well buried under a million more questions and I couldn't get there if I had to. What a Goose Some People Are, like Me.

No, things are not always as they seem to the observer. Hence, not judging a book by it's cover. The only way to truly find out something is to ask. (my answer before reading your story) In your case, she's stating the obvious which is annoying. Brings to mind Bill Engvall's "here's your sign", where you want to ask them " how can you be so stupid and remember to breath?"

Oh believe me, you’re not the only one. It happens to me a lot, and some people just do it more than others, it gets to a point where I just totally ignore them.

Yes it does because I use common sense all the time. If I see something - I'm NOT going to ask questions about it!
