I've stalked people that have been a danger to me or my family or my way of life.
Not the physical kind of stalking like trying to hurt an innocent person.
I track them through the criminal courts and make copies of their public police record. I take those records to their employers and cost them employment because they try to hide those little facts.
I bug their phone and cancel appointments they have made with doctors, attorneys, etc.
I call their probation officer when I'm 100% positive they will fail a drug test. (I'm 100% sure because I'm the one who gave them the drugs. I even do it with them.)
I've set some up to damage apartment property and report it to the landlord to have them evicted.
I have many tolls here, so I do get stalked.
Physically, though, the last person who stalked me got stabbed by me and I didn't go to jail because I was able to prove self defense. The court is very unfeeling toward a true, evil stalker.

In my small college town, I was on a dating game show. This guy and I won and were given tickets to a show and dinner. He called me nonstop to see when we would get together. Annoyed by his persistence, I decided to be nice, meet with him and just let him keep the prize for himself. He became enraged and started following me home. I went to a friend's house and eventually he left. At home I had 19 messages all from him. He began calling every hour on the hour, everyday for a week. My roommate told him that I withdrew from school, and he still stalked outside of my friend's house. Even though the campus was big, he found me walking from class and the calls began. I then called my brothers and they handled it. He never bothered me again.

I have been stalked and let me tell you, it is terrifying! I was stalked by a man I had been in relationship with. After I broke up with him he left threating messages (I will kill you), broke into my home, vandalized my vehicle, followed me to work and back, created phony IM names and tried to engage me in conversation.... It went on for months before he was finally arrested.
If you're thinking of stalking someone you need serious help! It's immature and illegal.

As a matter of fact, I'm stalking someone right now. Two people actually. One of them looks exactly like Daron Malakian, and I ADORE Daron. I think he noticed something weird because now, whenever I walk by, he looks so freaked out. The other guy is the spitting image of David Wenham. I have a mad crush on him and now I finally gathered the guts to send him a creepy SMS. And now I'm on his MSN contact list! Stalking pays off!

people should really watch how they use the word 'stalk'.
There are people with intense crushes that do the occasional silly thing, just to get your attention, or after you've broken up and they're unsure if its really for real. I was both on giving and receiving end of this, early on.
(example: a cpl times girls admitted to following me from one bar to another, just to see where i was going. I dated one - didn't last long but she wasn't a psycho)
Then there are stalkers. I've had 3 or 4, could never do that to somebody else.
One man went to jail for following me in his car repeatedly when i was a teenager. One girl broke a window after we broke up -and sent me flowers (she had an excuse though: turned out to be endemetriosis). One older woman I knew but never considered dating got extremely manipulative, eventually admitted to being obsessed ("never been turned down before"), got a bunch of my stuff in her house (long story, I was on tour) and called the cops on *me* after inviting me to come get my stuff! (cops later apologized to me). One girl I dated for about a week jumped on me at a party weeks later, sent threats, would not stop coming to my house till I threatened a court order.
It really sucks being a guy stalked, because the law is all weighted against men.

My ex husband has stalked me more than once. He was especially bad right after I left him. It's kind a weird to me, cause his car for several years was the only one similar to it around my area, and I wasn't supposed to notice it parked across the street? Looking back, I should have called the cops on him, but I never did. Too dam* nice. (well, I WAS too nice, I'm outgrowing that....)

Great question... I was thinking about asking this myself.
Yes - twice. The first time was a guy from church of all places. He was going into the army and I met him ONE time. He stole a picture of me and started writing love letters to me with pages and pages of quotes from the Bible - weird.
The second time was about two years later. I was working at Sears and helped a guy who was purchasing a screw driver. He asked me out on a date and I told him that I was engaged (which was the truth) he started coming into the store everyday and waiting like he wanted to walk me out to my car. This was years ago before anyone took stalking seriously and it took me weeks to convince the store security to help me. Eventually I quit working there and I haven't seen him since.
