I mean the content, the dispositions, the belief systems, the values, the ideas, the thought processes, the assumptions, the methology... would you say that it is incongruent with spiritual reality?

No, they arn't anti-religion - they are pro-thinking and pro-logic. Pro-meeting people who don't think the way you do. And all that leads to intelligent people questioning what they have always been taught as truth.

I don't know what you mean by "etc... english, religion, philsophy, psychology, political science, sociology," but I think that it's kind of ridiculous. There are so many schools that have some affiliation or other with Christianity (I'm going to St. Bonaventure, a Catholic, Franciscan school), that I think it's impossible to be anti-Christian. Even schools that aren't affiliated with a religion, or are known to lean in a different direction are definitely NOT anti-Christian. Take Bradeis University, for instance. Technically non-affiliated, although known as a school with a Jewish majority. I know several Christian people who go there, and they have never spoken about the school being anti-Christian. In fact, I know that Brandeis actually offers a variety of religious courses, including ones on Christianity. So to answer your question: NO.

University's are designed to challenge your normal way of thinking. Most people in the U.S. are Christians and do not know anything about any other religions or spiritual beliefs. Upon entering a University expect to be challenged. Although the challenge is being able to embrace the knowledge and still have your own beliefs in the end.

Universities are meant for higher learning, not higher brainwashing to the most hypocritical religion the world has ever known. a comic i heard the other day says it perfectly, "I'm a Christian, believe what I believe or I'll kill you." I am a former Christian, and I lost faith about 10 years ago. If you want to be further brainwashed by people CLAIMING to talk with "God", go to a Christian University. they make them for people who are afraid to see the truth in "english, religion, philsophy, psychology, political science, sociology", aka the things that everyone should know for the better continuation (read: evolution) of our species.

I don't know of any that are explicitely anti-Christian. Many are explicitely Christian. I went to a Villanova as an undergraduate and Duke (which was a Methodist school) for graduate school. The first was decidedly pro-Christian and the second would never be characterized as being anti-Christian.

Most disciplines are neither Christian nor anti-Christian.

YES!!!! They treat Christianity like some kind of myth and Creationism like it's something from the dark ages. I can't help believe that if there were people from other religions in the class that the professors would not be so insensitive

It's as if they believe all intelligent people are non-believers unless they come from a different culture and then they view them as the victim cultural norms!
