I was raised in Sacramento, have lived in Hollyweird, San Diego and San Francisco.

I've also lived in Lake Tahoe, NV, Salem OR, Boston MA, El Paso TX, Anchorage AK, Washington, Florida, Wisconsin and some short stays in other states.

I now live in Hawaii and have for the last 19 years and love it!
I would recommend you pick a place for the type of weather you enjoy and one that has the activities you want to do.

Examples.. don't go to Oregon or Washington if you don't enjoy cold rain most of the year! If you want to be around tons of people go to NYC, if you want snow.. I think you get the picture..

Good luck and enjoy

I have lived in Idaho 4yrs. It is a very pretty State but very cold. Boise is really not that cold but it is south of the mountains.
I lived in Las Vegas 2 years. Loved it there. Played a lot of golf all year.
I lived in Arizona for 3years. Traveled the whole State for work. Didn't like it to well
I live in Houston now 17years. Don't care much for the huge city but got rooted here.
Prior to all this I lived in northern California for a total of 18 years. by northern I mean Sacramento to the Oregon border.
I would never go back to California. Most of my old friends from California moved from there also. Too expensive and too many junk laws.

Let see, I lived in the Central Coast of Ca. for 17 years. Left when the kids were getting into H.S. and we were starting to see some of the problems from LA in our little town.

Now we have lived in eastern Idaho since '92. It gets cold here in the winters since we are up in the mountains, and the summers can be very hot! It's beautiful here on the Snake River plain, but it is also very non-cultural, or accepting of different than what they perceive as the norm.

I would tell you to take a trip up here, but take some time to check stuff out. It only takes six hours driving from east to west. North to south a bit longer.

I know I don't fit in exactly with who you're asking, but I grew up in New Jersey, lived in Florida, lived in New York and now live in California...

I hate it here and I want to live in New York.... haha its so much better than anywhere else.. There's no place like New York...
